Starbucks is a member of the Grocery Manufacturers Association, a group that challenged Vermont over GMO labeling requirements (along with GMO giant themselves, Monsanto) told me everything I needed to stop buying their coffee. People outside Seattle hate Starbucks too, just FYI.

Never have I been a Starbucks fanatic. I have a Keurig, which I mainly use to make hot tea. Occasionally I will make coffee. Preferably Paul Newman’s organic special decaf blend. I buy the cups & lids from my local grocery store. So it costs me less than 25 cents for a cup of hot brew.

Bonus points for noting that WA is THE most tax regressive state in this country. A lot of people here don’t realize that no income tax + high sales tax + *gestures vaguely at not taxing millionaires/businesses BS * stops us from generating millions for infrastructure, housing, education, etc.

it’s basically the same here in tennessee. our combined sales tax (state + local) is about 10% PLUS we also tax groceries where washington doesn’t

If they tried the apparently unthinkable, and offered complete removal of sales tax to be replaced by income tax, it might have a chance at passing.

They did it to themselves. It's like the uncle who seems SO cool when your a kid until you grow up and realize he's been stealing money out of your dad's wallet and lying about his job with Nintendo.
