One year to go! Project Hail Mary, adapted from the novel by Andy Weir (The Martian) and directed by Phil Lord & Christopher Miller, will be released on March 20, 2026. Filming wrapped last October. This encounter between two very different species could become a great sci-fi movie. 🤞

Please stop this madness. The Martian movie was awful compared to the book. We don't need another "based on" movie where you have less than 50% of the book in the movie.

luckily, given that world war z was an “oral history” (series of short stories) and thus couldn’t have been truly adapted except as an anthology film, i don’t think project hail mary will have that problem. best sci fi book I’ve read in a LONG time. I loved it.

I really hope this film adaptation is good. That book deserves it. I don’t think it’s quite as good as The Martian but it’s very close and that’s impressive

I thought the movie The Martian was one the few exceptions where the movie was better than the book. I loved Hail Mary and can only hope the movie is close to the book.

This book was really cool! No spoilers but I was really impressed by the different little plot twists throughout, the science involved, and of course the driving mystery. The ending was worth the journey too, just a great book. Can't wait to see how it makes it to film.

Really looking forward to this as the book, to me, was a fantastic page-turner blending a world ending disaster, peril in space and alien contact with a great sense of humour and a mass of very well explained science. Just hugely enjoyable storytelling.
