Rep. Al Green (D-Texas), who was carrying a sign saying “Black people aren't apes,” was escorted off the floor. This is the second consecutive year that Green has been removed removed from the president's address to Congress for protesting. https://wapo.st/3ZQywBr

For a 1st generation immigrant Greek and Cuban descendant, she sure is a #cunt. She's clearly unfamiliar with how we spread around the 🌎 from the earliest of people's, and is more closely related to African people than she knows. “Malliotakis' father is from Greece and her mother is from Cuba“

You might comment upon the truth value of the sign. Why does Al Green think this is a relevant message? Well, becuase President Trump did, in fact, share a racist meme on social media depicting the Obamas as apes. Seems like a key fact this story should include.

For protesting? Does that mean his message is in opposition to the president's ideology? If not, how is that a protest?

Funny you should mention that. I held a sign just like that in the 70s. Or whoever was standing next to me did. I've held several signs. But it took a while to get that message out. I'm glad to see it's taken hold.
