Heartbreaking! Climate change is going to kill so many because of the few that would rather make money than make changes!

We don't have to worry about evacuating for any reason here in the states. We're getting rid of science. If nobody tells us about it, it ain't gonna happen. Stupid Europeans. (My heart does go out to those folks who have lost their homes. I'm glad they are all safe). Thank you science.

And they are leaving in large numbers - like intellectuals were forced to flee Netanyahu's Israel, Mao's China, Stalin's Russia and Hitler's Germany. Authoritarianism has a very high cost.

You have to give the Swiss some credit for being careful and evacuating the village, saving many lives. What a disaster, though. This is what we are looking at in the next 10-100 years... I'm old, so I will probably not see how bad it will get, but this is a harbinger.

I am a science believer and 100% agree with you. Sadly however the invention of the internal combustion engine was a turning point which led to the exponential growth in fossil fuel use. A bit ironic, but that is not the reality we live in.
