I don't know this person, but I imagine it can be tough for people that aren't into the plumbing to grok the affordances atproto gives us.

i see this like vencord adding a plugin to allow you to search your gifs. and its fine that some people want to use vencord, but your average user isn't going to use vencord. so it would still be preferable to want the feature in the main discord app.

they could also be lazy or have a preference. i see you have a custom domain handle, do i want to type it in to go to your website? no, id rather you just add a link in your bio. same thing imo. i’m losing stuff i like from bsky if i move to a pwa social app alt. not a solution for normies imo 🤷🏽‍♂️

they literally didn't express any of that thru my questioning though. like there's reasons people won't change! "i don't want to" is valid, yes, but is not a reason imo as someone who, y'know, metacognates.

This is kinda sad, but not sure how prevalent your level of metacognition is in the general public. When communicating atproto, I try to maximize empathy. But then again, I think most posts here were perfectly friendly. Will admit, it triggered some "you're weopanizing ignorance" emotions in me.

they blocked me which is ok, i understand i put a lot of attention to this (should be more weary of that now) ik why a bunch of people suddenly badgering you into a solution can be overwhelming, but pls know that if you are one of these people who keep complaining despite answers existing, pls shh

This isn’t a solution though - the point of editing is for everyone *else* to see the edited version, whereas an alternative app can only show you an edited version. (or alternatively it works via deletion and reposting but that is also not an edit button)
