Either Cinderella or Bambi, back when Disney would regularly re-release the animated films to theaters pre VHS take-off. Live action? Probably Return of the Jedi in '83 when I was 4.

First film you saw at the cinema. The real first one, not the pretend one you tell people! Mine: The Empire Strikes Back, 1980, Wigan. We were near the front and I can still remember how massive the AT-ATs looked, looming over us out of the snow :) Film, year, where, and whatever stuck with you.

I have thought about this in thinking through putting out a new app. If it gets downloads and I switch to monetize after the free period, what's to stop someone from taking screenshots, having AI reverse engineer it, and release for free against me?

It's grotesque that he played. This is nonsense that makes me not want to watch another second of the NFL.

Eagles QB Jalen Hurts, who is out for the season after several blood clots were revealed in his lungs. Before the London game, Hurts was in the hospital until 4 am and did not sleep because sleep was a risk. He played the game without having slept. Crazy.

No joke. I think this is the most important video I have ever seen about mobile games. This guy breaks down how this game psychologically profiles you, and makes the game harder or easier in order to show you ads

Anthropic wrote that the new policy update “is meant to apply only in extreme cases, where users repeatedly act cruelly toward our models, with no discernible purpose. It does not apply to common versions of user frustration, pushback, dark creative themes, or model testing and research.”

For this app, I paid for a piece of artwork that I redrew in my own needed style. iStock says they don't accept AI, and it's labeled as "Not AI", but this is probably the toughest stuff to tell since it's vector line art and so generic. Who knows! I tried.

First full field test of the app. If it holds up for the full 8 hours it should be submitted this week. Genuinely surprised how well it’s working.

The only issue so far is the teal/purple. I tried to not do blue/pink but it’s too instinctive. There’s a bit of mental friction each time, unsure if I’m logging correctly (and some incorrect logging).

Something a little different for finished Friday. I’ll be taking a release candidate for this app to Alexandria next weekend. Some design process images of the primary screen.

Nailed it.

Prediction: Endgame had a post credit that was just the sound of RDJ hammering the suit in Iron Man 1. They'll do the same thing, but this time reveal it's Doom forging his mask.

I'm not much of a Pokémon person, but my son is & trying to buy him cards at retail prices has been nigh on impossible the last couple of years, and I refuse to pay scalpers for anything. So it warms the cockles of my heart to see so many of them having a full meltdown about the recent set. Enjoy!!

My new analogy for AI coding is a hand saw vs a table saw. A table saw lets you do more at scale with nice, clean cuts. But you don't just turn it on and throw boards at the blade. You have to know what you're doing, know what it's doing and what it's best at, and be in full control.

i don't think you necessarily meant it in this way, but yes, the invention of the washing machine is one of the most liberatory moments in human history, among other time and labor-saving inventions

WIP Monday! I don’t usually do 1/4 inch trim for a Halloween piece but I doubt I ever do Wart again, unlike Rosalina, so I’m letting it rip. #pixelart #wood

YouTube shorts has turned into AI slop central, especiallly in the ads. Lots of AI demo videos of things you can buy that probably work only 1/4 as well as the fake video.
