🚨UNREAL: Republican Rep. Andy Harris just DOUBLED DOWN after being confronted over threatening a student journalist with prosecution for recording him. “I pushed back, liberal media got offended.” He VIOLATED her rights. Harris is completely unhinged and needs to lose.

Hi, I’m Dan Schwartz. I’m running against Andy Harris, Maryland’s only Republican congressman. I’ve spent 14 years fighting for consumers. Now I’m fighting to lower costs, protect health care, and end corruption. We can flip this seat, but I need your help. Please share and chip in $1. Link in bio

My teenage children, who have never set foot in NYC, go around saying "Help me, Mamdani!" whenever anything goes wrong and/or they can't figure out their homework, just to give everybody a sense of the scale of this man's presence in the culture lol

The UK demonstrates the downside of voters not much caring about trans issues. It's often held up to show transphobic pandering isn't a winner. And that's true! But the bad side is that a small but well-organised and persistent group of obsessive bigots can do incredible damage if they get in power.

John@johnlk.bsky.social

What this Labour Party government in the UK is doing to trans people is fucking incredibly shameful. It's hard for me to think of another example of a mainstream center-left government rolling back rights for a segment of the population with such enthusiasm and virtually no public dissent.

Sometimes, what — or, who — isn’t pictured is just as important as what is. Watch research reporter @amierjeski.bsky.social explain how ProPublica figured out a Russian oligarch bankrolled much of Donald Trump Jr.’s wedding.

The United States is actively helping Putin murder civilians in Ukraine. Trump is doing everything he can to force Ukraine to surrender to his friend and ally Putin so they can be subjugated by the Russians again.

I'm a big fan of the complaint she was "summoning witnesses with no notice on federal holidays." Well, yeah, that's what happens when you suddenly start destroying things on the weekend before a federal holiday. Maybe next time don't do that.

Remarkable: Dems are growing optimistic about flipping Mahoning County in Ohio, a major destination for reporters looking for voters in Trump Diners. Dem internal polling shows Trump at minus 11 points in the region, which is a stunning collapse. New piece from me: newrepublic.com/article/2167...
