The National Post published an article defending the white nationalist Dominion Society because, they propose, 8% of Canadians *could,* "for argument's sake" support ethnic cleansing—meaning it's more popular than the NDP. They Included a legal argument but did not disclose the author was disbarred.

🚨BREAKING!🚨 The UCP have officially voted to ditch the Electoral Boundaries Commission Report to appoint their own commission and draw their own maps! Gerrymandering is official UCP policy in Alberta! Contrary to her script, Smith didn't even show up for the vote.

The apparent implosion of OneBC seems to centre largely around one staff member - Othman Mekhloufi, who OneBC staffer Wyatt Claypool said (on X) has "insane race 'blood and soil' politics." We have audio of Mekhloufi from August talking about political strategy. 🧵 👇 vancouversun.com/news/local-n...

They’ve started running Dick Cheney through the Charlie Kirk sanitation machine. The man pushed false WMD claims, justified torture, and expanded unchecked executive power after 9/11. He showed zero remorse for the hundreds of thousands who died in Iraq. Like… stop it.

We're not becoming authoritarian, we already are. The question should now be: how do we survive?

The Breakdown AB@thebreakdownab.bsky.social

With Smith deploying the notwithstanding clause on one front & setting up more… We asked @duanebratt.bsky.social at our live show for his assessment & whether or not Alberta is becoming more and more authoritarian. His answer should be required for all Albertans! #abpoli #ableg #cdnpoli

Don’t let anyone change the reality of who Fuentes is. Now that he is more mainstream, there will be an almost involuntary reaction on the part of many to see him as legitimate. He’ll use that to great effect, as he already did with Carlson. But never forget: this is who Fuentes actually is.

It actually is mind blowing to check out X and see what is essentially 4chan which is also populated with politicians, media figures, "thought leaders" etc. A dystopian horror, really. Where neo-Nazis now have equal standing with mainstream leaders. There is a reason Fuentes is now so mainstreamed.

The authoritarian takeover of X was a harbinger of the regime’s strategy for America at large. Bluesky is a perfectly adequate refuge for X exiles. The biggest problem with Bluesky is that so many political and media elites are still on X. That’s not Bluesky’s fault—it reflects poorly on the elite.

This was such a blast! So grateful when folks in the media give academics the space to talk about our work in accessible and public-facing ways.

Since the Annunciation shooting in Minneapolis, I have bee transcribing the attackers diary, I have transcribed 231 of 291 pages. The diary is handwritten with (mostly) Cyrillic letters to look “Russian” but are English words spelled phonetically.

It’s worth naming that the reason people already have these “neutral” alternative phrases in their back pocket is because this is the language white supremacist scholars use to hide their hateful work. And now they’re asking all of us to use it to legitimize them.

It’s important that we name that sociologists (including Jess) have been raising the alarm about these trends toward misogyny in young men and boys for a decade. This isn’t something that sprung up out of nowhere. It has been brewing for their whole adult lives.

This isn't a stalled gender revolution. It's a gender counter-revolution. And the most troubling part is that it's younger men and boys the leading charge. www.nytimes.com/2025/06/04/o...
