LA REINA WINS HER THIRD BALLON D’OR ‼️👑 After a UWCL-winning season, Alexia Putellas adds yet another accolade to her trophy cabinet, equalling Spain teammate Aitana Bonmati’s record for most Ballon d’Or wins by a women’s player. One of the greatest players in football history 👏

Having game six of the #WNBA finals on a Thursday afternoon is the most perlexing thing I have seen.

A small but steady stream of voters arrived at a Portage Avenue diner Sunday to meet Noah Redden, just two days after a new poll suggested the 27-year-old has emerged as a player in Winnipeg’s race for mayor.

Ah, yes. California. A state famously inhospitable to automobiles and car-centric development.

Good grief.

Bolsonaro's loss is not just a loss for Bolsonaro. It's a loss for Trump. For Musk. For Milei. For Netanyahu. For Farage. For Meta and Zuckerberg. For the meat barons, the fossil fuel corporations, and the rest of the neocolonial looters. And it is a massive win for humanity and the living planet.

The idea of riding with Middle Schoolers off-campus can be 😱scary. But the reward is huge. They deserve to explore their community and there is no safer or better way than a biking field trip.

The lessons from Brazil and Serbia? Don't concede one inch of ground to the far right. Don't appease. Don't triangulate. Don't grovel. Don't say they have "legitimate concerns". Mobilise your base, and fight them with all the democratic means at your disposal.

Voter apathy 101.

The Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives @policyalternatives.ca notes that in the early 1970s, funding for post-secondary education represented more than 3.5 per cent of all federal government spending. By 2024, it had fallen to just 1.9 per cent. #cdnpoli www.brandonsun.com/opinion/2026...

I wish CBC News would not analyze the whole BC Cons victory like a "miracle hiccup", but rather a pure greed by David Eby that fell flat on his face.

Those poor orcas are dead :(

Jesus fuck. RIP BC

what a night

Lula’s win is the first good news for the planet in a while! I bet it shaves a tenth of a degree off how hot our earth eventually gets, which will save millions of lives Thank you Brazil!

Ok now I can take a sigh of relief and at least some good news after the BC debacle yesterday.

Yes. Lets hope so.

I hope this is not fake news regarding Brazil's presidential election.

This thread.

🧵Yesterday, British Columbia elected a Conservative majority government that ran on a platform of tax cuts and accelerating the pillaging of nature, or what the party calls “natural resources exploitation.” They also ran on attacking Indigenous sovereignty and trans rights.

Here is hoping Lula wins in Brazil. Honestly, the BC Cons win last night was painful enough.

Eby was certainly doing Eby things.

On this day in 2023: “Welcome to the Hangman residence” During #AEWDynamite, Swerve Strickland visited Hangman’s home, and things got even more personal—right down to ripping up Hangman’s kid’s painting. We've all moved on right? (via AEW)

I would be very cautious about the MB NDP as well...

Remember when we wanted Anjali Appadurai to lead the NDP + party brass said heck no & installed Eby and that alone was the first dire warning. Anyway. Yeah. me too. This was Eby’s election to lose & provincial NDP across the country are that unreliable oil guzzling ex you shouldn’t trust.

"... but Green voters are unlikely to see a meaningful difference between a BC Conservative government and another NDP one on climate and energy." Ooof. #bcpoli #bcelection www.nationalobserver.com/2026/10/21/o...

Watching the BC election... 😐 #BCpoli #BCelxn

All the BC NDP had to do was ride out the last two years, replace David Eby and go back to their roots to have had a real chance. But instead they played the play stupid games and win stupid prizes route.

This!
