It's Screenshot Saturday! Trails of Suebia now has its own Steam page. Would make me really happy if you add it to your wishlist ♥

Every unit and tower in HARDPAN is build with Blender and has been remodeled based on new sketches. Last week all eight were rebuilt, and the towers now sit into the roof and face the street.
Which one would you build first? #indiedev#gamedev#unity#osm#indiegame
we just dropped microlandia 2.2.4 and this time we overhauled the entire public transport management. it’s now presented with a clean design with colored lines like you see on real transit transit diagrams! and there’s a lot more #citybuilder#indiegame#pcgaming#steam 🧵
Massively improved sculpting speed and tools. Land can now be sculpted, smoothed, pinched, and painted in smooth 60fps at 4k.

I got the hurt animation in for Trasasaur! So instead of insta-killing it, you can now kinda bug it for all eternity. Penzin kept it's ability to just sit on Trasasaur's back and take a rest. Not sure how I'm gonna handle that once Trasasaur can deal damage though

Nobody painted this light: every sprite casts a shadow and mist settles in the low ground, one week after the playtest.

One of the great things about a deterministic game is that you can have your playtesters send you replays when something "cool" happens #gamedev#indiedev#solodev#pixelart
Something lives in the dark: moths.
They fly out grey to your silos and turn the color they drink. A laser of another color pops one and it drops what it drank. Or light a lamp: fed moths circle it.

New devlog on Discord: the sea, the map edges and the menus. Pictures of every bit of it, and I share more there than here. Come say hi!

Trying out a trapdoor fade effect in Melkhior's Tower, for when a level is completed in time trial mode. The fade will help with a smooth transition to the result screen.

Devlog: "EXPLORER". Purple Mountain's. I wanted a rough, stylish landscape in the style of Virus/Zarch on the Amiga.

Had proper fun playing my own game tonight. Great feeling! Even though the AI kept spamming rams at me the whole match 🫠

Long time no see! I've been working on the puddles lately. I love how they catch the houses and the torchlight at night ♥

Did some UI/UX Improvements from tonight on Logistik c:
Before/After on Planned trains list (the background is still blurry/transparent but not in this specific example):

I ignored performance a lot; but running the game on Android and browser reveals quite some bottlenecks. So I have to look into that. Not using an engine means this is up to me to take care of. Not that I am good at that, but at least I could improve a few things.

The bow spray in Seagazer has no particles. It's two mesh sheets that run the ocean's own shader code, bent into shape in a vertex shader. Here's how it works, made in @godotengine.org. 1/6

Farms are now easier to plan and manage ✨
We added a new grid overlay shader with a subtle pulse effect and Norse-inspired details, making it feel more organic while helping you line up farms, gardens, beehives and more.

the Ballista, a bolt-thrower on a cart with two men to work it
it outranges every tower, so it can stand off and a tower cannot answer it

just spent 2 hours trying to figure out why the save system was not picking up the inventory
thankfully i managed to get it sorted in the end

I think I started making this sandbox only because I wanted to recreate where I used to go during the summer as a kid.
I added parks and monuments to the little sandbox.

The gameplay is done, so now it's time to make it look like a game 💡
I added spot lights, volumetric fog, glowing spike pits, coloured door lights and emissive columns in Unreal Engine 5.8.

A difficult part of showing my progress is how hard it is to show it. "Euphoria _" is one button but secretly 12 attacks, I made my move data able to input another attack allowing for any attack to be a side effect instead of coding each effect.

5 years of game dev evolution in 22 seconds.
Here's how Shroom and Gloom looked across 5 different eras, going from game jam to Early Access.

Working on the dark ice for our game! Tested the door in-engine today with a shader I made.
The top 2 pics are in #Blender, bottom right is in #Godot
Don't mind the ominous duck for now 🦆 o=o

I fixed sooo many stupid bugs during last week, oh boy 😅
Now something more appealing: added flies cloud and replaced outlined highlights in favor of proper highlighting 🤓
How about... spiders next? 🤔

Been a little bit too focused working on a falling blocks prototype, and before I knew it I ended up turning it into a full on project.
What if you could clear blocks by linking a color all the way from one wall to another?

- Been working on a completely new upgrade tree. It’s more in-depth now, with more interesting choices instead of just being a bunch of stat upgrades.

I'm working on an Armory Crafter tutorial 🛠️
I will talk about ID Masks / Color ID Maps, used in Armory Crafter to isolate different parts of a model and apply materials and texture details to specific areas.

the Skeið runs onto any beach, a raid that needs no harbour
fastest hull on the water and it pays for it, nothing afloat has fewer hit points

Light blue or red? I can't decide.
I like the light blue one because Eric the fish is easier to spot.
But the red one fits more with the red dashboard at the bottom of the screen?

Seagazer’s bow spray isn’t made with particles! HeedlessNomad used two grid meshes shaped in the vertex shader. Here's how it works. 🌊

Now I have my Full on Running animation working (Speed run fun awaits!😈). Player walks then when tapping forward twice to hold he can run with extra speed and change in animation. The footsteps of the running may change. Its a place holder for now #Gamedev
Trying out a little digital TCG style card rendering for another project I've been working on. Having some fun with shaders, been really enjoying working with this!
Next up gonna try to push the parallax more and see how it feels.

GAME 710 – Week 2 Dev Log
This week, I continued planning my A1 Set Dressing project. I refined my reference board and decided to focus on a dark medieval ruin environment with fog, wet ground, and water.
