šŸ˜āš”ļø Exciting NEWS!! The new PinKeep trailer is out! The game changed so much over the past several months. We had to create a new trailer to make you as excited about it as we are! Check out the demo on Steam and share your thoughts!

TIL that the History tab in the #GodotEngine Inspector, it's not just a log of messages, it's a list of snapshots that you can click, and revert to that state! 🤯 #Godot

šŸŽPick apples. šŸ§žWish for Apples. šŸ¦„(Don't) kill the unicorn. The Applefication of everything begins now. šŸ‘ļøāœØšŸ‘ļø Apple Picker is coming to Steam! šŸ‘» #indiedev #indiegame #applepicker #incremental #steam

Long time without posting, but worked a bit on the infinite Freeride mode for my snowboard game #gamedev #godotEngine #indiedev

The plugin is already in the AssetLib!! Since the plugin stores the settings and cheatsheets globally, you can add it to any project in like 3 clicks, directly in the engine!! #Godot #GameDev #Tool

My free #Godot cheatsheet viewer plugin along with all +14 free cheatsheets are now available!! You can optionally buy the Ready-To-Go collection to support me and download all free cheatsheets in one go! qaqelol.itch.io/cheatsheet-v... #GameDev #Indie #GodotEngine #Free #Addon

A friend of mine who runs these things always repeats something to me along the lines of "Playtests and Research isn't for telling you the right thing to do, it's to confirm to you that your assumptions are correct and that your intentions are getting through to the players" and that's stuck with me

Unpopular opinion, but a lot of this "doing it right" mentality is how we wind up with games all feeling the exact same. Difficulty spikes, weird controls, ropey onboarding all of it critical to prevent games feeling like they're ground down and pumped out safe mush. www.reddit.com/r/gamedev/s/...

Walking on the street. I put my headphones on, and play Emptylands - Blood Cultures. I close my eyes, and teleport instantly into the Underworld from @skatestory.com. I love games that build such a connection with the music, that let's you go back to that world from it.

Added a snow cannon, and rotating visuals for the characters in my top-down Snowboarding Roguelike game, just in time for #ScreenshotSaturday #IndieDev #GameDev #Godot

I was wasting too much time going to the specific scenarios I wanted to test in my game (even with LimboConsole), so I made a dropdown of scenarios next to the play buttons in #GodotEngine, so I just need to press F5 and that's it.

Really photo editing here by Hector Vivas of Getty Images. Composite of the women's snowboard halfpipe final, depicting all the female Olympians who competed.

Finally created the Steam page for the snowboarding roguelike game I've been developing on #godot for the last months: Snowboard Rogues! Inspired by 90's SkiFree classic. Planning to release a demo on itch in the next weeks! s.team/a/4288970

I always had the issue that in signal receiving callables I needed to declare all parameters, even though I only wanted to respond to an emitted signal, and not use the provided params. Varargs to the rescue: `signal_name.connect(func(..._ignored): …)`. Nicer and clearer 🄰 #godotengine #gdscript

There's this meme that's always in my head "I want to feel like I did when I first played pokemon silver in the early 00s". It's a bit funny to compare them, but Skate Story gave me 'that immersive feel'.

Some days ago, my girlfriend and I did old vinyl painting with acrylics, so I painted my favorite album cover "Currents" from Tame Impala.

Indie #gamedev would be perfect if I could avoid these moments, 1/x: You suspect that parts of your game aren't good enough, but you don't know which. You'll rebuild a perfectly OK feature while leaving in something show-stoppingly bad.

This has been a great year for the engine, but there are still a lot of things we would love to do. If each person visiting our website donated €5, we could hire 5 more developers to work on Godot full-time. šŸ‘‰ fund.godotengine.org

TIL In #GodotEngine, while debugging, you can hover on any variable with the mouse and you'll see the current value. You don't need to find it in the 'local stack variables' list.
