I'm used to feeling out of touch with everyone around me, but the backlash to the new Narnia trailer is the worst I've ever felt it. That movie looks awesome, the trailer was on point, not being into it is one thing but it's like I watched something different than everyone else. I feel crazy.

I think a key to not being chronically upset at things is to stop pregaming outrage. Don't invent bad things that are based on bad things and act like they are fully real, it's bad for you.
It would be wonderful if everyone could take these words to heart: Making bad art is not a sin. If your only interaction with a piece of art, whatever that art is, is to express hatred for it (especially if you haven't genuinely engaged with it)... that's just bad. That's a bad way to behave.
I've been taking commissions for nearly a month and you might be tired of seeing this, but money is a little tight and I gotta keep going.
As always, if you interested send me a DM! Alternatively, I have a store with prints and stickers. Link in bio. 😊
I don't know who needs to see this, but you can just not watch movies or tv shows you don't want to see. You can not read books or comics you don't want to read, and not play games you don't want to play. You do not need to create elaborate moral frameworks to justify it. But also fuck JK Rowling
super fun design for a client that I got to bust out my fave scale brush forrrrrr

The thing about JKR and telling folks not to buy Harry Potter shit is it isn't because we think it can take away her fortune and platform. She's so rich she would still be rich if she never sold another book
It is because it is literally the smallest possible hurdle to clear to value trans lives
After all this complaining if the second season of the live action avatar is not the worst thing I've ever seen when I finally watch it I'm going to lose my mind.
As I suspected, the movie everyone has been saying is trash turns out to be incredibly fun and entertaining and delivers on everything it sets out to do. One day people will look back at this age of nerdy media and not understand why everyone was complaining.
Job interview tip:
As soon as the interviewer enters the room, belt “SO IF YOU CARE TO FIND ME, LOOK TO THE WESTERN SKY” directly into their face and then leave.
The New ultimate universe that started in 2024 with ultimate invasion ended yesterday, and from start to finish it was fantastic. In this modern age where the flaws in our media are cardinal sins people are of course tearing it down, but it is worth your time to check out.
Gunna be real here, if you're already acting like a movie that hasn't come out yet is trash just because that's the buzz around it... well, maybe take a moment to think about how and why propaganda is effective with some self reflection.
Are there any comic artists willing to collaborate with a writer? I have no idea how to even start to build relationships like that, where do you even go?
“While I do make the effort to beautifully animate the cuisine in my films, the sad reality is that all of it tastes rather foul in-universe,” Miyazaki stated.

I know Calvin’s dad is already having a moment, but every terrible “outsource precious and fleeting moments with your children to tech so that you can spend more time on your work” pitch makes me think of that one strip I never really cared about as a kid, but care a lot about as an adult.
As we see stupid takes and blatant nonsense in our feeds that make us mad, I think we often forget how much of it is artificially inflated by social media itself. Getting upset at upsetting things *that it put in front of you* to capture your attention and engagement.
I don't think it's too much to ask to simply look at primary sources if you want to have an opinion on something beyond "it doesn't seem like something I'd enjoy." We should all be willing to interrogate our own opinions regularly.
Stuff like mob mentality and love bombing are known things that everyone intuitively understands even if they haven't heard those terms. We all know that large groups can influence behavior and belief in individuals. Yet everyone acts like they don't exist in personal fandoms and politics.
