One of the lesser known outlaws of the Old West was Rufus Nephew, aka Climax Jim. That's unfortunate because the man's life was a never ending series of crimes, arrests, acquittals, convictions & daring escapes. Here's a sampling of some of his very stupid adventures... ๐งต
I think my ability to distinguish between "I am feeling weirdly anxious and low today" and "I am just a person having a totally normal reaction to being alive during the 2020s" might have completely vanished.
Was going to try going to bed early tonight, but that definitely did not happen. I have to get up in 5 hours to do a yard sale. I hope I sell a bunch of stuff because I need to pay some bills.
Was trying to put something on my bookcase when I got home & knocked off a jar candle, which broke into a whole bunch of pieces. Just got everything cleaned up & now I'm thinking about if I should get the candle out of the trash & melt the wax into a different container.

I have a bad habit of hoarding library books & taking forever to actually read them. I currently have over 200 checked out & decided to add most of them to my "to read" list, return them, & try to only check out small batches from now on. It will be nice to get some shelf space back.
This is not the first time (or second, or third...) that I've had to do a big return like this. Hopefully I'll do better with keeping my checkout numbers down this time.
Several weeks ago, Phil Tippett's legendary animation studio in Berkeley, CA closed. An anonymous hero noticed a folder of CDs. This turned out to be hundreds of unseen hi-res images and videos from Star Wars, Robocop, Jurassic Park, etc. ~90 isos for you to browse:

Losing my mind while doing some research for my creature design lecture that the closest relative to the maned wolf is the bush dog. Like there has gotta be a fable where the maned wolf took all the leggie from its cousin
Every now and then I see myself referred to as an "AI Denier" and I want to be clear I acknowledge "AI" exists, it's just I think it's a massive energy drain, created from theft, implemented poorly for inappropriate tasks by loathsome tech executives who get hard at the idea of the rest of us dying
