Heads up: this website also "reviews" publishers, writer-beware-style. Lists big reliable publishers as safe, warns about many known scams, and then... Lists a few scam presses as "safe and reliable". Couched in professional language with buzzwords about transparent contracts and payment schedules.

hey all i dont know what authorsdaily dot com is? but they have an "Interview" with me posted that i - never gave - is full of lies - has my wrong pronouns - is full of things i dont do - or would never say? so i emailed them and told them to take it down but jfc, i am tired

"As I made my way to the summer house, I felt grimly determined to continue with my plan. Whatever the cost." "Same," I mutter, taking out cake pans that have been in the oven ten minutes to unwisely try and add in the oil and vanilla this oil-based cake is dependent on. Work food days Loom.

*while listening to audiobook, is the lede buried there. Buried badly, like oil and vanilla glorped onto the surface of parbaked cake I have seen go wrong a million times in baking shows.

Car: *idles hesitantly in intersection* Me: *awkwardly pulling up behind* Car: oh lemme get out of your way by pulling into this apartment lot Me: *pulling up behind* This is my apartment lot Car: LEMME JUST PULL INTO THIS RANDOM SPACE T_T Me: THAT'S THE SPACE ACROSS FROM MY ASSIGNED SPACE T_T

"I'M NOT TAILING YOU, LIFE IS JUST A MANY-SPLENDORED THING FULL OF COINCIDENCES AND ALL OF US LIVING OUR OWN MULTIFACETED LIVES SHOULDER TO SHOULDER WITH EACH OTHER," I shout out my car window as they awkwardly pull back out of my lot and flee.

5 days to go on the Apex Kickstarter. They're at $16,446 pledged of their $21,000 goal. Times are hard and money *sucks* right now, but if you can drop a dollar in the hat, it would probably help.

Apex Magazine @apexmag.bsky.social is doing their annual Kickstarter and I urge everyone to back one of the genre's most constantly amazing magazines! BONUS: If you share this post you're in the running to receive a signed book from me. Details in thread. 1/ www.kickstarter.com/projects/ape...

Another little piece of good news, as I just signed contract-- I will have a microfiction called "Nose to Tail" in @foofarawpress.bsky.social 's Quotidian Bagatelle, likely early 2027! A little mix inspired by serial killers, cooking shows, and general exhaustion with the demands of capitalism.

The competition was *tough* and the panelists had an absolute blast! SO MAY I INTRODUCE, THE INKMARK 2026 FINALISTS! inkfoundry.net/inkmark-2026/

"How did you get into tabletop role-playing games?" Played as guest while visiting BFF. Suggested "If 2 villains hate each other, & we've captured one, could we do a hostage exchange instead of the long quest before you?" DM flipped pages 10 min. "I can't think of why this Wouldn't work" Hooked.

I think aside from the thrill of breaking DM plans in my first session and the turnabout of promptly falling face-first into a narrative trap- It was very cool to sit in on the culmination of a very long-running subplot, a character reunited with their kidnapped wife with all friends about... + me

I got to take a brief paddle around the deep end with floaties on before getting towed back in for Session 1 standard "fighting a level 3 bandit" type thing, is what I'm sayin'

We also found ourselves in a dragon lair, and the dragon smugly asked me what I would do with insects that creep into my home. Playing a kenku, deep in bird mode, I innocently and earnestly replied, "Oh, I'd eat them!" The rest of the party: "NOOO!" Roll initiative. Doubly hooked.

A large glorious spider made a bold web approximately 1-2 feet in front of my door, right where I can get No Pictures that don't give away my exact location. My industrious new neighbor is currently spinning up a meal. I would watch longer, but it is Windy and my door / face are in the danger zone

*walks outside* OKAY MY EARLY BALLOT IS IN TO A SECURE DROPBOX. YOU CAN NOW STOP CALLING, TEXTING, EMAILING, AND SENDING ME MAILERS. AND ADVERTISING IN EVERY BREAK OF MY LITTLE SHOWS. AND--

Seasonal Driving Hazards: - Deer - The first early frosts on the street - Daily commute falling exactly at golden hour, overcome with the beauty of golden hour on the autumn leaves as I blissfully sideswipe every car, mailbox, and fire hydrant.

It's raining cats and--nope, more cats!

First day back at work after New Zealand trip, immediately faced with an unanswerable question: Is this unfamiliar man by the coffee machines British or is my mind just primed from all the kiwi and UK accents I encountered on my trip?

"You could just ask" If this was simply a soft-spoken, mumbling, polite Nebraskan man, and I ask "ARE YOU BRITISH?" out of the blue, I am the one who will appear Unhinged. It Simply does not compute that he would be, so randomly. Not an everyday occurrence, in my workplace. But???

Between two different episodes of Taskmaster and a plot point in the book I just started, the universe seems to be newly intent on me learning how to siphon things with a garden hose.

I had to refresh my app to see this option, but it was there and I turned all the filters to "No AI" Then promptly took their feedback survey again to say: "I'd rather no AI content on here at all, but thank you for the option to filter it out!" Just in case they were wondering "do you like This?"

This post is unavailable.

I don't know how much the feedback survey matters, but it's there at the bottom and you can fill it out as many times as you want, so I figured I'd give them a break from my constant, "Please Stop Trying to 'Inspire Me' "

The ole eel bite took about a week to (mostly) heel up by the way. Brain has moved it into the category of Story Research, so I guess look for some kind of eel-based horror in my future body of work, idk. Backwards teeth really do Tear Ya Up a little.

Sis's Friend: Yeah, and New Plymouth has these eels so used to being fed that you can touch 'em. A friend did get nipped, but it's cool. Me, later: *petting one with index finger, forgetting to tuck my thumb in* Wow, so slimy. The Eel Behind the Eel I Was Petting: Wow, what a lovely bit of sausage

"Why does anyone even SELL these Sleight-of-Handgloves?" I thought, swiftly walking away from the stall. "The shopkeeper was so quick to let me try them on, too." My pockets are stuffed with everything...except my wallet. It's then that I remember: the shopkeeper volunteered to demonstrate.

The shops love a trend, and you can't help but jump on board. First was the Watermelon Quenchers served in a full watermelon. Then collectible gingerbread men, who staged a revolt and built their own village. What oddity do you find yourself ordering today? #TinyTalesTuesday #WritingPrompt

Oh good, they still crawl around in the attic spaces between houses--the thing tiny me didn't fully understand but loved Passionately.
