Read this thread if you're not sure why the intermediate certificate CVE is bad

Evelyn@kandake.africa

SSL follows grants of trust, a root CA can sign a cert that is used to generate more certs, that signed cert is considered an intermediate. Clients don't have to trust the intermediate cert only the Root to establish a chain of trust.

having one of those deep deep deep exhaustion from the injustice of years of precarity possibly leading nowhere days ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ๐Ÿ˜ญ if anyone has a lead on something to help keep me afloat it would mean a lot! reposts appreciated also x

I'm very grateful to have been entrusted with @erlend.sh's Discourse payout to keep me above water while working on this, and with that narrow $1.5k/month runway I've worked harder than I ever have. That money's run out now, so please know that if you're in a position to support us at all

This is APPALLING. The Trump administration is detaining multiple random Somali immigrants with no criminal record at Guantanamo Bay, seemingly because the White House ordered ICE specifically to detain Somalis at Gitmo as part of its effort to punish an ethnic group Trump has attacked.

โ€œThe worst place ever Iโ€™ve been in my life," Sakariye Abdi Mohamed, a Somali asylum seeker, told me over the phone from Guantanamo Bay last week. Sakariye is one of 7 or 8 Somalis who are being held at Gitmo. They say guards tell them the order to keep Somalis at the facility comes from DC.

And with easy implementation of website themes, it's easy to commission your own personal designer, or... even more exciting... it would integrate perfectly with an open theme marketplace!

Mathew Lowry@mathewlowry.eurosky.social

All I want for Christmas is an ATproto site Theme library: a marketplace of site lexicons (blog, hub. newsletter, digital garden), each with a marketplace of design themes.

Also, in the realm of the atproto artistic marketplace, want to flag that @rpg.actor has been talking about how to support commission requests! (And they have already implemented artistic provenance.)

rpg.actor@rpg.actor

We've been having this conversation too! Few folks been hiring or wanting custom sprites for their rpg.actor characters, and we're trying to figure out the right way to connect wires for everyone. We already have paired records for artistic provenance, but trying to figure out commission requests.

This kind of thing really resonates with the website builder structure I'm interested in.

Okay I think primarily it's that I want two things able to be plugged inโ€”I want my friends to be able to easily upload project information (photos/description/title), and I want separately to be able to craft a custom website that they like that consumes that data.

In particular, I'm super excited about the idea of allowing easy cycling through different website themes, with your data already plugged in. (So you're not just previewing a template theme, you're looking at your already-fully-built website, in this new theme.)

That way if any friend wants to hire a web dev/designer to make a really fancy new site for them, they don't need to start from scratch. They can just leave their projects plugged in, and the web dev can consume the data to make the new site. So I'm in the market for strong, from-scratch flexibility
