As a reminder, the entire reason this specific bike lane is somehow under the purview of the Provincial Government is because our moron Premier has to pass it on his way to his job (on the rare days he goes to work) and the sight of a cyclist passing his SUV in traffic makes his blood BOIL

I had a theory NXT didn’t do anything special Tuesday cause they knew they would win the ratings no matter what, for various reasons, and they’d like the optics of a basic show beating a stacked PPV level card.
Head-to-head Tuesday, with Dynamite moved from Wed due to MLB playoffs: WWE NXT (CW): 532k viewers 0.10 P18-49 0.14 P25-54 AEW Dynamite (TBS): 495k viewers 0.11 P18-49 0.15 P25-54 Full reports for subscribers momentarily at patreon.com/wrestlenomics and wrestlenomics.substack.com
These bus lanes, and the recent opening of the Scarborough Busway, are the only things that make transit within Scarborough a viable option for the many people who don’t own a car here. Can’t tell if BradBrad is really this cynical or just an idiot.
Brad Bradford in Scarborough talking about transit, arguing Olivia Chow prioritized a waterfront LRT instead of Eglinton East LRT. Promises he would work to remove priority bus lanes on local roads including Kingston, Morningside & Midland. Would keep on Eglinton. #ToPoli

#Thread 🧵: Now that there's no more risk of it causing any harm to PAC and WWE is trying to exploit his death solely for the purposes of wrestling war bullshit, everyone needs to know the extent to which WWE ratfucked PAC in 2018-2019 to try to destroy his livelihood by fucking with his work visa.
Since WWE's trying to exploit PAC's death, it's time to talk about this: Remember how PAC suddenly had visa issues when AEW started? That's because, when the AEW trademarks were filed, WWE called USCIS to claim he walked out on his visa. After leaving him alone for a year and giving him his release.

the right despises cities because they produce understanding. dense urban areas necessarily expose people to difference. insofar as the right wants to enjoy the bounty or convenience offered by the city, they want to be ushered to and from their destination in the safety of a car

It's interesting. Earlier in the verdict they say the court has no interest if bike lanes are good or bad, etc, but here they are making a value judgement based on....their own bad common sense
The judge's ruling cites "common sense" as the reason that adding more lanes eases congestion IT DOESN'T!! THERE'S AN ENTIRE FIELD OF STUDY AROUND THIS VERY TOPIC!! WE'VE KNOWN ABOUT THIS SINCE, LIKE, THE 1960s!!
Oh this ruling is a total shitshow.
The judge notes that Dr. Saxe explained Induced Demand to them, notes that Induced Demand is "a THEORY" (very "THEORY of evolution" opponent language), and then makes up his own statement about the "obvious logical connection between the number of lanes on a road and the volume of traffic"

Bradford also does the bike-lanes-belong-on-side-streets thing. Would be great if proponents of this kind of thinking could show us a map. Which streets? How do they lead to a cycling network that’s actually useful? Aren’t a lot of the places that cyclists want to get to on main streets?
