When Eliott and Svenn became the foxes they are today, they caused a sensation on the internet and managed to earn a lot of money. They spent that money on a huge mansion in France, where they welcomed other Misfits just like themselves. (1/2)

When trans creators are subtle, people dismiss the trans subtext as “headcanon.” When trans creators are loud and proud, people call it “obnoxious” and “cringe.” They just don’t want us to be represented in media at all. Because they don’t want us to exist at all.

This is worth noting for a lot of people, really. If you're following artists who aren't putting stuff behind paywalls, consider throwing them some tips anyway as a thank-you to ensure they keep making the stuff you like!

If you’ve never watched Babylon 5, Koenig’s Alfred Bester is a bright, helpful, clever, friendly troubleshooter who always listens, follows the rules, and knows in his heart he’s doing the right thing. In other words, he’s one of the most frightening and implacable villains in any sci-fi show.

It's hard to believe but Democrats ran for decades against the "Bush tax cuts" and then made most of them permanent. Then ran against the "Trump tax cuts" and then didn't repeal them either.

For the fabulously wealthy, paying taxes is pretty much optional. They can borrow against their vast wealth, which is mostly an untaxed capital gain, without paying taxes. When they die, the capital gain goes to zero. And loopholes exist to bypass the estate tax too.

He keeps hinting in his speeches that there are going to be some big surprises next week and a couple people in his administration are going to be remembered in history books. It seems like no one really knows what to do with that information so it’s just passing casually

Okay, but you don't have to go back 1300 years to see that every example RFK Jr brought is wrong. Arabic people have won the Nobel prize, the Fields Medal, and the Wolf Prize. Arabic people have written loads of literature.

The internet can be pretty gullible about tech products, but congrats to everyone who called exactly what this was going to be used for from the first moment they saw it.

"At long last, we have built the Mechanical Hound, but don't worry--it's not at all inspired by the Mechanical Hound from Ray Bradbury's classic novella 'A Society That Would Build The Mechanical Hound Would Be Deeply Fucked-Up And Use It To Hunt Dissidents!'"

Thread. The sad truth for folks like me, who actually care about seeing artists, getting sketches, and discovering new books, is the answer to the Beat headline’s question for my big local show is “no.”

Excellent write up on cost/benefit for artists at increasingly-pricy shows. One of the reasons that I, and so many others, so esteem HeroesCon, is that they curate and comp tables for a LOT of artists, including "new" artists. My first "real" table was at Heroes... www.comicsbeat.com/is-artist-al...

When they came for me over similar laws they tried very hard to make me believe that I would be absolutely fucked for speaking out, and it worked. I don't want anyone to be in that hopeless position. None of us should ever be where I was.
