When they tell us "there is no alternative," what they mean is "stop trying to think of alternatives." To imagine radically is to move beyond the helplessness of prediction: a radical imagination dares to insist that history is what we make, not what happens to us.

For an art challenge with two baristas at my local coffee joint. They're both into #mangaart but, that style is not required. Subject was "autumn". For me, this is #finishednotperfect. The papaer only played nicely with the dip pen occasionally and my penciling was not the tightest #keitruck

My Heiter costume didn't pan out so, I went as "We have Masayuki Suzuki at home" or Bargain-Basement #MasayukiSuzuki My facial hair is too fair to even be seen and we won't discuss the hair. Next year better...

Dating predominantly to the Edo period (1603–1867), highly decorative pierced arrowheads like this piece represent a peak manifestation of samurai martial refinement and monozukuri (craftsmanship excellence).

Ah yes my favorite topic as someone with total aphantasia, who people LOVE to claim are utterly helpless without AI help. My mind cannot conjure images, sounds or any sensations. No inner monologue. No dreams. And SDAM, so I don’t even have vivid memories And yet I draw. Without the shit machine :)

‘Wildwood’ director Travis Knight on AI: “A pencil is a tool. A paintbrush is a tool. A 3D printer is a tool. A digital capture is a tool. AI is not a tool. AI can go fuck itself.”

Another #artdrop Meet Bibliomordax, an obese book-hoarding dragon who was the protagonist of a mediocre 5e homebrew I made a few years ago. Made her a monobutt to keep her from looking like a pinup Her origin story is in the alt tag

I've mentioned before I've updated my contracts to make sure everything in the production of my books is done by humans and not "AI"; if you're wondering what such a thing looks like, here's a clause covering that from a recent contract.

I may be reading too much #manga and watching too much #anime Working on my teaching license portfolio. Writing the phrase "...asking for opinions from our more experienced peers..." Almost wrote "...asking for opinions from our senpai..." 🤣🤣🤣

My art school required end-of-year critiques with three teachers you didn't have classes with. One of them examined my 3D work (never my strong suit, I was going into GD), looked me right in the eyes and said: "Why are you even here?"

In the 90s, my design prof made us make clay figures and line them on a ledge. The next day we came to find clay bits smattered all over the floor. You passed the assignment if your figure was still on the ledge. Most weren’t.
