How many Arsenal teams in the past have we seen who would eventually crumble in a game like that, with a crowd like that, with opposition like that, with a ref like that? We should not underestimate what a fucking tough nut to crack we are these days.

Some games you really, really have to scrap to win. This was one of those. Raya's penalty save so important, Bruno's goal absolutely sensational especially given his Newcastle connection, but I loved the fight and determination. Konsa absolutely having no bullshit from Xhaka! Great 3 points.

Wenger got mocked and memed for years on end while other clubs, particularly Chelsea, had to break the law repeatedly to beat his Arsenal side. It is shameful but of course capitalism has no shame.

Quite remarkable that Chelsea breaking rules to sign seven players (+ three unknown) who during their respective times at the club helped win a Champions League, the Europa League twice, two Premier League titles, two FA Cups and a League Cup didn't merit a points deduction

As a Manchester United fan I rightly expect absolutely no sympathy for the abject state of my club. I will also say: Wenger's Arsenal overwhelmed Manchester United fair and square, while Chelsea and Manchester City didn't, and football as a whole is still paying a huge price for that.

Do you find Arsenal boring? Blame their opponents. #AFC matches are terrific entertainment when they play against teams who dare to open up (Bayern Munich and Inter Milan, for example). In the league, it is the opposition's fear that kills the spectacle. www.telegraph.co.uk/football/202...

In a whole swamp of negatives, Mikel Merino once more looked like such an effective presence around the penalty area. He links play, gets shots and keeps a cool head. He's not perfect but given the form of the alternatives, he should be leading the line for Arsenal again.

Another win, back to the top & it’s still not good enough? Will obviously feel amazing if we win something but the building narrative of the last few years is suffocating & the relatively unfair pressure on this group of players (& the fans) is sucking a lot of the joy out of the journey.

I'm sick of people like Gary Neville telling me how i should be feeling & what i should demand. I don't demand anything. I don't think we should win the league. I do think Arteta has done an unbelievable job. We are properly competing and that's just fine. The league is now a coin toss

Not in the least bit fussed about the performance, that’s a massive result to go away to OT & win first game of the season. They were always going to be well up for it & our record there is truly awful. Points in the bag & to the next one. UTA

Just so obviously such a bad idea for so many reasons.

Contract talks with Thomas Partey intensifying this week. Partey's agent was a guest at Sunday's game, with both sides now pushing for a swift resolution one way or the other so that they have clarity ahead of the summer. No agreement reached yet, but both sides would prefer that he stays in London.

Plenty of pundits and fans of other clubs seem to see him as entitled/arrogant and I think it's because, understandably, they see a lot less of him than Arsenal fans who follow every game and every interview. He incessantly bangs on about standards, controlling what we can do, rising to a challenge.

People calling for Arteta’s head blows mine. Feel like we’re watching two different clubs. We’re really fucking good & mainly because of him. Anyway, let’s wrap up a CL spot & hope for better luck with injuries next season. UTA

And not for nothing - my favorite thing I’ve come to love about Mikel is he never ever makes excuses, he never gives an inch, won’t give up the league, etc…doesn’t moan, commits, believes. Doesn’t matter how the chips are stacked against us - believe, believe, believe.

#Arsenal used to get battered by all the big teams in the Champions League, year after year. Mikel Arteta has changed our lives. Don’t take this, or him, for granted. We battered Real Madrid so badly that Camavinga has suffered complete head loss; this team is truly elite. #AFC

⭐️Myles Lewis-Skelly vs Albania 18 years old. Started 9 times for Arsenal this season, and already called up to the England senior squad. Capping his debut with a special goal. Brilliant display. Mom and grandma at the end... Immense pride🥹

In the space of a few minutes Lewis-Skelly has tucked in to form a back three, overlapped so that Rashford can drive in on his right foot and joined the front five in an inside forward spot. We should continue to be staggered by his game intelligence six months into his top level career.

Here’s my back of the ciggy pack analysis. Coaching gives you your floor. Arsenal’s floor is very high because of the coach (which is why we’ll finish 2nd with ridiculous injuries). Talent gives you your ceiling. We need more attacking talent.

I can’t/won’t read every story about the Trump Temper Tantrum today - but is the coverage at least noting he was Impeached previously for trying to strong-arm Zelensky for dirt on Biden?

Jason Cundy on Myles Lewis-Skelly: We saw what Roy Keane did to Haaland’s dad.” Can we take a minute to remember that this is over a celebration. A celebration taking the piss. And, national radio is encouraging a career ending injury. This is absolutely disgusting. #AFC

An 18 year old English superstar talent was wrongly sent off, then comes back in a massive fixture, in front of the world, and dominated full grown men defensively and scores a brilliant solo goal. The English media line up to call him a villain and to “rein it in” You decide why

Man Utd aside, is there a single fanbase that still buys what this tosspot is selling? He was good when he broke on the scene, but he's become one of the laziest narrative merchants around.
