Ash Versus (FKA Under Consoletation)

A tough announcement. UCP is ending September 2026. Full details below: www.patreon.com/posts/159274...

Thank god. I was worried I’d be out of date by the time I do another podcast. Good to have official guidance on bawbag.

How it started: Dominik’s back. How it ended: Dominik comes home. A week I’ll never forget. From London to Arbroath with many stops in between. My eternal thanks to Dominik for the trust he placed in me for the first show and every one that followed. Sonic euphoria.

Dominik Diamond on stage at The Stand in Glasgow. Amazing venue, beautiful crowd. I’m quite emotional just being able to watch it and enjoy this one.

Glasgow folks! This is tonight! Penultimate show of the tour that was never supposed to be a tour! It’s been a blast so far, so if you fancy a post work chuckle, consider picking up one of the handful of tickets remaining. www.thestand.co.uk/performance/...

Narrator: The dickhead slept through two alarms and is now running late.

Glasgow. I am in you. Your Saturday night weaving drunkards were no match for my flight case steering skills. Now I must fall over for a minimum of 6 hours. 7 or 8 would be ace, but let’s not get cocky. -Ash

Such a joyous evening from @dominikdiamond.bsky.social (and @ashversuspod.bsky.social) the other night, haven't laughed like that in ages and man was kind enough to sign the Greaseweazle I whipped out me keks. Gonna smash the rest of this tour

Absolutely amazing couple days away with @spudgun.bsky.social not only did we get to chill out we got to meet the amazing @ashversuspod.bsky.social but THE one and only got of gamesmaster @dominikdiamond.bsky.social absolutely legends!!!

Night 2 of the Dominik Diamond Sings the Video Games is done and dusted! An amazing crowd, lots of fun, and getting to meet a lot of friends both new and old as the night went on. Next stop: Blackpool and Play Expo.

The final episode of UCP dropped this week. Cliff and I went back to the beginning with S01E01 of GamesMaster. There’s reflection, sadness, jokes, Diamondisms, and a tiny bit of politics. Love to you all. -Ash (via Instagram https://instagr.am/p/Dd_Oh9Gt2iU/)

On the road between now and next Wednesday trailing this gent up and down the country. Going to Arcade Club tonight? Play Expo on Saturday? Forgotten Worlds on Sunday? Any of the other places listed? Come say hi. I’ll be around. -Ash

Goddammit.

This feels like it’d be attached to the gritty Blumhouse reboot of ‘Woof!’. (FAO @rosetintedspectrum.bsky.social)

Couldn't resist the new Turrican cartridge for Evercade. Turrican 1 and 2 are definite favourites from my Amiga days.

This show is now SOLD OUT. If you’re still interested you can register interest on the page and I’ll be in touch if any tickets free up. Those tickets will be offered on a first come first served basis. Anyone you see offering tickets via comments or replies? Probably a scammer.

My Dungeon Crawler Carl fanart! I finished Book 8 and felt the urge to pick up the pen 🏃‍♂️🐈🦖 #DCC #DungeonCrawlerCarl

That’s either a very large stack of boxes, or @cleaverslips.bsky.social is very small… 🤔

I really cannot think of a greater honor than to have the Muppets say this about you upon your passing

GamesMaster Legend Dominik Diamond Is Returning To The UK To Sing About Video Games

I could probably list more reasons for the 'why not' than the 'why'.

Every vintage gameshow:

Exciting news! Dominik Diamond is returning to the UK and bringing a new show: Dominik Diamond Sings The Video Games! Details and tickets can be found here! ucplive.com/dom

A video I produced, for @filmisfabulous.bsky.social, showing preparation, cleaning & digital scanning of a BBC 35mm film negative, of The Beatles performance for Top of the Pops (Rec: 19th March 1964) Digital preservation was undertaken at R3Store Studios in London youtu.be/VXWEXJgny6c?...

HEY! 1) Accurate 2) Some of us do both. It's called Multitasking. LOOK IT UP.

Work prevented me from attending/watching this weekend, but huge congrats to all involved. Podcasting is hard, live shows are hard, doing them together is also especially hard. Top work for pulling it off no matter how hard it got. -Ash

I am both stunned by the elegance of this outfit, and also wondering what weakness this monster of the week has that the Sentai team will need to exploit.

Are you attending #MysteryWrestling28 in London, England on Saturday, August 29th? Check out our exclusive event tee “Mystery Calling” available only at the merchandise table! #MysteryWrestling

Jesus… that only leaves Billy Gibbons left. Genuinely quite shocked on that one.

I made my decisions, and I don’t regret them. -Ash

Back in the saddle after a week (mostly) off. The winding down of UCP continues with a few more episodes to go. Meanwhile, have a pic of what I did on my holidays. -Ash

We talked about this a lot when discussing magazine reviews… that 65-80% range could carry some real niche stuff that’d be a solid 90% to the right person.

The differences giving a damn can make. Top stuff.

I played perennial @underconsolepod.bsky.social pod favourite Densha De Go! Today. It was a lot of fun. 10/10 would drive people on the Japanese Subway again

Your fact of the day: Adrian Bell was the first cryptic crossword setter for the Times. Martin Bell, his son, was THE Martin Bell - legendary BBC journalist and (briefly) independent MP. But know who Adrian's DAUGHTER was? Anthea Bell, the translator of Asterix comics into English.

I used to work for their extended warranty support line. It was my first full time IT job and nearly broke me. Up side, I got to do telephone support for @timmymallett.bsky.social which was a high point. He was absolutely lovely. -Ash

Tea: 1 Toast: 3 Steak: 1-2 (I'd generally go somewhere slightly between)
