Every day I contemplate the fact that we still don't know what causes left-handedness. Ages ago we as a society decided it was totally normal and stopped punishing and ostracizing kids for it. Today the thought of being anti-left-handedness is bonkers to us. This is a post about trans kids.

Our sweet baby Luna crossed the rainbow bridge last Friday. We found out last week that she had heart failure and metastatic thyroid carcinoma. The vet did their best for her, but she was in a lot of pain and ultimately the best thing we could do was let her go. Fuck cancer.

My sourdough starter, Shilo is still flourishing. She's had three babies that are also still going strong: Beulah, Kayden, and Spock. (My only condition when giving out pieces of my starter is you must name them and you must tell me the name.) Spock has apparently had many babies. 😆

Reached my Goodreads goal of reading 50 books this year! I might still be able to knock out one or two more before New Years, but even if I don't, I'm glad to have hit that target. 💙📚

I keep wanting to say something, and I keep not knowing what to say. The trans community does not harm cis people by existing. They are just trying to live their lives, same as anyone else. That life doesn't look exactly like mine; my life doesn't match anyone else's. That's okay.

Something I wish we were currently better at grasping is that sometimes bad characters will do bad things. Not every villain has to be a rapist who eats baked babies, but they will be racists, bigots, assholes, and violent bastards you want to see lose. That doesn't mean I, the author, agree.

I want to scream this from the rooftops. I'm so tired of this "Girls mature faster" bullshit mythology being spewed even by intelligent people. And we all know why people WANT to believe it...yet people clutch their pearls about monsters like Epstein and Trump. It's ALL connected.
