“I have all the sympathy that you need, but please give me back a percentage of what I give you instead of kicking me in the ass and thinking you’re going to get away with it.” Meisner, you absolute DIVA! 😂

Next up, con Carney promotes smoking in new Health Canada initiative.

Michael Nabert@sustainablesong.bsky.social

Environment and Climate Change Canada using tax dollars to promote fossil fuel expansion, such as that depicted in this sponsored ad, is full throttle sociopathic. It's like Health Canada choosing to actively promote putting rat poison in your lunch.

The powerful executives who cozied up to Trump didn't oops accidentally forget about pendulum swings. They either: 1) Like the fascism 2) Calculated it was here to stay, so going along was savvy 3) Saw no real downside, no consequences when the pendulum swung Crucial to show them 3 was a mistake

That this is in THE WASHINGTON POST is almost too much irony to bear.

I LOVE that it’s called Ombra Della Sera (Shadow of the Evening) 🥰

"Despite massive investments...[AI] has delivered zero financial payoff to corporate America outside of tech. With no impact on the bottom line, mainstream corporate America is pulling back and starting to view token spending not as a source of growth but as a cost center that weighs on margins."

This analyst's report from Apollo about AI uses the term "S&P 493" to refer to the "S&P 500 minus the Mag 7" - because if you take out the AI companies, the S&P 500 is tanking. www.apollo.com/wealth/insig...

Anyone catch that clip of Eby shortly after he called the election where he was like “My advisors told me I should’ve called a snap election a while back but I didn’t because I believe in policy, not politics. Anyway, that was a mistake, so here we are.”

The show became a success because of the crew involved and they get rewarded by all being fired/not renewed as production moves to Canada, where Canadians get cursed by being paid dirt and being yelled at to deliver the same quality for less money and most likely less time.

‘The Loud House’ received a last-minute renewal, Jessica Borutski, the show’s head director since Season 4, confirmed on a recent podcast. Production has moved from the U.S. to Canada, with the entire production crew replaced while the voice cast remains.

How much you wanna bet these tech companies pleading with users to "be kind to their AI agents" is because half of what they claim is AI is actually human labour from exploited workers in the global south?

One of my favourite summer jobs was working at my local national park while I was in college. It was heartbreaking to see and hear stories of how funding had been slashed over the decades... our parks play such important natural, cultural, economic, and social roles. They hold so much potential.

At least $50 billion for another pipeline. $82 billion in new military spending in 5 years. $300 billion in corporate welfare and mega incentives at an investment summit. But the cupboard is bare for Parks Canada.

‘Wildwood’ director Travis Knight on AI: “A pencil is a tool. A paintbrush is a tool. A 3D printer is a tool. A digital capture is a tool. AI is not a tool. AI can go fuck itself.”

You gotta wonder how many American children would say “When I grow up, I wanna be president of the United States” these days… It’s not just about not seeing yourself represented by who’s doing the job. It’s how you see the job being done.

We live in a world of finite resources. There’s a word for unchecked growth: Cancer.

Most of these game studios are not closing because they're not PROFITABLE. They're closing because they're not showing GROWTH. The system of investor capitalism is ruining literally everything you care about.

Conservatives and Liberals are working together to ram Bill C-39 through Parliament. They don’t want to hear from Canadians, and they are afraid to have their legislation scrutinized. New Democrats are standing up for Canadians whose voices are being ignored.
