I gave a talk at EMF titled "Men in Tech #YesAllMen", in which I told my experience of being a woman in tech. I was afraid to publish it in case it affected my current or future employment. With all the current news I would like to add my 2¢. So here is the recording: youtu.be/WXL6K1lhvt0?...

Where do folks find @svelte.dev / sveltekit jobs? Seems like everything these days is React.

I need to do a deep dive on this tomorrow, but the Trump administration basically dismantled the US Forest Service last week, and did it so quietly I don't think anyone even knows that it happened or what it means. morethanjustparks.substack.com/p/breaking-t...

How do y'all @svelte.dev Kit users style active nav links? Seems like page.route.id is not reactive on nav changes

I was going to ask y'all to donate to @signal.org but I had to do it first. Now that I have, please consider learning about Signal, and why privacy is important, even when you don't have anything to hide, then consider donating to help Signal continue their work. signal.org/donate

Regulators can take many lessons from the Grok/Twitter undressing scandal, but one of the most important is that Apple and Google are gaslighting when they claim store monopolies are necessary to protect us. Nothing could be further from the truth: infrequently.org/2026/01/nake...
@vivaldi.com the CTRL+TAB shortcut focuses browser tabs in some sort of random order I can't make sense of. Other browsers go left to right (or right to left with SHIFT). Is there a reason? Is this a bug? Am I an idiot? OS: Ubuntu 24.04.3 LTS
Trying out @vivaldi.com. Happy so far. Thanks for the inspo, @brucel.bsky.social.

Is there a way to ensure certain files that aren't in the app tree make it into the @svelte.dev Kit build output? I have a background process that pulls a file from a relative import. Works fine in dev. Can't find the file in prod :/
Having your own website is not always easy, but it's always worth it :)
you’re right! it feels mostly awful to Go Online™, these days. the internet in a sad state, for reason after reason after reason. but there is a way to fix it; to trade the voidful howling for a quiet & joyful song. here’s how to win the war for the soul of the internet, and build the Web We Want.

The design decision by @svelte.dev Kit to provide tools for early termination of route execution by calling `error()` or `redirect()` is awesome! That any code does not continue to execute after these functions are called makes it much more idiomatic and safe to write route handlers I <3 Svelte :)
Actually, it looks like arktype can be configured to strip undeclared properties: arktype.io/docs/objects... Sweet. Still looking for opinions on the two tho :)
