Back in the earlies, CSS lovers invented new stuff, shared eagerly, and challenged each other to improve on it. There was real excitement when someone launched a site. Others would dig into the code to learn and make suggestions. We celebrated each others work. I miss that. I really miss that.

Been kinda quiet about it but I took a part time job at my local fly shop. Got a chance to do some team building with the guides a week ago and it was said the shop guy knows how to fish. Still can't hold a fish well for photos though...

I'm currently looking for full-time or contract work. I specialize in building CSS-based design systems where engineers don't have to write CSS and helping product teams develop a shared language for building on the web. If you know of anything that might be a fit, please let me know. Thanks!

Capitalization affects how people read hashtags or how people hear them on screen readers. Use #camelCase or #PascalCase in hashtags instead of lowercase. You could have #DoctorWhoRewatch ("Doctor Who Rewatch") or #doctorwhorewatch ("doctor whore watch.")

Many people might pass up water like this but I can assure you there are really pretty fish you can get up close and personal with, tossing big dry flies. Had a day this past week reminding me how lucky I am to live close to these waters.

This Is For Everyone is now available in paperback. You might recognise the face on the cover...a younger me at MIT in 1998 when 150 million people used the web. Today it's roughly 6 billion. Read about how the web came to be and where I think it's going ➡️ thisisforeveryone.timbl.com

Fly fishing in my yard for a big land cat with a foam hopper is so much fun (no hook ofc). She's super picky so I have to hit it right in the zone, including off the lilacs and tall grass. So much more fun than casting rings. Practicing my roll cast and short fast double hauls. #flyFishing

Please if you can, help support the best icon api on the web.

CyberAlien@cyberalien.dev

Iconify is constantly growing, domain has passed a big milestone: 10 billion requests in last 30 days! It is a double of what it was a year ago. While project is free, servers cost money. If you are using Iconify, please consider supporting the project: iconify.design/sponsors/

Foam season has been on fire for me. Had to restock my box. GFA and Clod hoppers with a few no name hoppers. #flyFishing #flyTying

Had this Bee balm wild flower pop up last year but wasn't part of the wild flower seeds we planted a year before. Musta seeded well cause this year we have quite a few and I love them. Late blooming and it's popping off right now.

So I was talking with someone today that told me the rock on the right isn't porphyritic basalt with epidote. Does anyone have some insight? #rockHounding

I don't do favorites but if I was left with only two artists to listen to. I the Mighty and Rise Against would probably be my picks. Just amazing albums one after another.

Some treat web accessibility as a checklist to meet legal or technical requirements. But at its core, web accessibility is about people, not code or requirements. Web accessibility is about making sure people with disabilities can use websites, apps, and digital technologies.

i'm firmly of the belief that everyone should have a creative hobby. even if you aren't "good" at it. it keeps your critical thinking skills engaged, it reminds you that you're still capable of learning and growing and improving at things, it helps you connect to other people. you gotta make stuff!

This is so exciting. Mark my words: mixins will *completely* transform the way we write CSS more than any other CSS feature has.

Patrick Brosset@patrickbrosset.com

Oh, what a way to start the week 😍 CSS mixins implementation is starting in Chromium, from my team at Microsoft.

Wife was mentioning Bonnie Tyler's passing as we were talking about Footloose. So I had to load up some of her songs, now it's turned into a 80s pop/rock vibe going on in my house this morning.

Unlock a CSS super power with named grid lines! You can even combine with grid template areas for some truly amazing control over complex designs. Read Ryans article for my favorite layout wrapper technique. You can also watch @kevinpowell.co go over it in this video. youtu.be/c13gpBrnGEw

Throwback Thursday - Out of the dozen or so websites I have designed and develop from scratch, one I made back in '08 for @kcsufm.bsky.social has still been one of my favorites. Designed in PS, two column table layout, flash audio player, with a WordPress blog RSS parsed for the homepage news.

This is what happens when you edit your post after writing it and have dyslexia I swear... The no was in the right spot. I read it and it still made sense, till I posted it. My brain just can't brain sometimes maybe it's not such a good thing.

Brent Morton@b.1mind.dev

Never thought the odd way I write would ever stand out in a good way but no there is mistaking it's human.

I'm reminded when a friend sent me a dm and it was filled with mistakes and typos. I replied properly and they couldn't believe I understood them.. Guess that's a benefit.

I don't think some of you understand... I've been gently nudging Kevin to try GSAP for almost 6 years. Jason comes along and is like hey guy. /s This honestly brings me such joy seeing Kevin teach GSAP. Everyone involved in the CodeTV challenge just made me remember why I got into this field too.

thanks so much for the shout-out in your latest video, @kevinpowell.co! you KNOW we're having too much fun when Mr. CSS himself gets in on a GSAP challenge 😆 watch it here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=AiZs...
