There is a lot to say about the Nolan Odyssey movie. But one point that I think has not been emphasized enough is: this is a film about living in LA, as Nolan, my erstwhile British compatriot and age mate, has done for years. I gather it’s a strange place.

You need to understand that he actually believes it is illegal to criticize him. Why? Because Trump believes he - not the people - decides the law. This is why we are in the middle of, not on the verge of, a totalitarian takeover.

It’s called murder. Murder, assassination, execution, extermination. The United States is a criminal state.

We are fast becoming a banana republic, with two standards of justice. If you oppose the leader, you go to jail just for speech. If you're a loyalist, you get immunity for your crimes. That's what happens in Iran - not the United States. This is a decision moment for America.

This sounds like a good old fashioned American Nazi rally. I’m not making a joke or trying to be clever. Miller wants to annihilate the left.

Sinclair is a major union buster. Also turned small local stations into turnkey operations with “local” news coming from other, larger stations. Media consolidation now has the power to squelch the first amendment.

Right-wing Sinclair Broadcasting owns all these local media stations and many others all across America. This is not journalism, it is scripted propaganda.

The Vice President of the United States is a liar. Also a piece of shit.

Don Moynihan@donmoyn.bsky.social

This is false. For example, the libertarian @cato.org breaks down the numbers, showing about 6 deaths from right-wing politically motivated attackers for every 1 from left-wing attackers. Moreover, the claim that shooters represent anyone other than an unhinged fraction of society is the deeper lie.

Once again, the President of the United States is a piece of shit.
