Ne'er do well, sailor. The Jim Belushi of poasters. Calmer than you are.
Every day and in every way, I’m trying to become a better Lieutenant Junior Grade.
The Tree of Liberty must be refreshed from time to time.
I was absolutely assured we didn’t have to worry about Trump interference in the election because the Federal govt doesn’t play a role in the elections.
Well Shirley the courts will stop him.
The Department of Justice on Wednesday told Washington state officials to segregate ballots from 400 people who it claimed were noncitizens registered to vote.
Attention mail-in voters:
TODAY (Tuesday, Oct. 27) is the U.S. Postal Service's recommended deadline for mailing back ballots in states where they must be received by Election Day.
You can also consider returning your ballot at your local election office or any available drop box instead.
I can see Trump has given up on the paid actors doing Blacks 4 Trump and has started campaigning in towns of 14k people.
Tbf it is very close to other battleground places like western Tennessee, northern Alabama and Arkansas.
Major press failure: treating Jared Kushner taking foreign bribes and shaping US foreign policy as less relevant than Hunter Biden not taking bribes nor influencing policy.
Covering Kushner accurately was considered partisan, biased. Lies about Hunter or his minor actions treated as more important.
Jennifer Shuford, the CDC's deputy director and chief medical officer, who "was hired in April as part of a new four-person leadership team" to run the CDC "and restore confidence in the agency" will be leaving after just six months on the job. 👀

The couple celebrates their union, emphasizing faith and family as the foundation of their new life together. Stated Judgement: (+0.5, +0.5) — Constructive 🌐
I know there's a lot going on but I feel it should probably be more of an above-the-fold story that members of Congress released a thoroughly documented report directly accusing the president of the United States of being a serial rapist.
One in four Mississippians rely on Medicaid. Let that sink in. Now think about what $1 trillion in cuts means for our families, hospitals and communities. Cindy Hyde-Smith voted in favor of that.

For the fabulously wealthy, paying taxes is pretty much optional. They can borrow against their vast wealth, which is mostly an untaxed capital gain, without paying taxes. When they die, the capital gain goes to zero. And loopholes exist to bypass the estate tax too.
“Billionaires who popularized stock-based lending include Larry Ellison and Elon Musk. Both borrow to avoid having to sell shares—which could trigger a taxes and dilute their voting rights—in companies they founded.”

Showing your rank ignorance while shoving your foot up your own ass with racism.
This really takes something. Again this dumb schmuck only has a -4 approval.

BREAKING: Judge Reyes has issued a preliminary injunction over the golf course and begins with this:
"Rarely, if ever, has the United States Department of Justice urged a federal court not to believe the sitting President."

Trump on DC: "Nobody wanted to eat out. They were afraid. Even if you were in the restaurant, people would walk in and like the Wild West, 'Hold it up!' Everybody is standing there. Can you imagine? A fancy restaurant. They were robbing the whole restaurant. It's crazy."
That assessment sits behind an operational plan Israel and the U.S. are now preparing. The aim is to topple the regime and end the "rule of fear" imposed by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.-Israel Hayom

A recent securities filing spotlighted what triggered Mark Zuckerberg’s months-long power battle with board directors at Meta — a fight that sparked not-so-veiled threats from Zuckerberg and led board members to contemplate quitting.
Nobody knows where the electorate really stands but it's clear that Republican turnout is the only big question left. Sending prominent conservatives to stump in heavily Republican areas probably offers the best bang for the buck they can get at this point
As we know. This administration takes that kind of thing very seriously.
Now. To have a sip of coffee and get an update on the prosecution against Trump in Aileen Cannon’s jurisdiction …
Trump is BIG MAD about Obama saying the White House now looks like Saddam opened a Cheesecake Factory: "He's not a smart guy. He's not smart at all ... for you to say it's a Cheesecake Factory, that just shows why you were a lousy president"
The vile attacks on Amy Acton need to be seen in the context of a party that *needs* people to believe women fabricating sexual assaults is common as rainwater. Because it’s pretty much the only way to evade the conclusion that the president is a rapist.
Beyond disgusted by even more rape allegations against the President of the United States.
"In total, more than 25 different women...have independently accused Donald Trump of rape, sexual assault, or other sexual misconduct."

Odysseus would order a cheesecake that is all the flavors you want it to be. Then, all the flavors you wished you never wished for. Flavors so delicious they become unbearable. Flavors you want but can't have. Flavors that tasted of all the diet plans you failed to keep and didn’t want to keep.
the idea that a city's social services should be paid for one-by-one by these insane discretionary deals on a development-by-development basis is just madness. it's such a tremendous drain on the general prosperity in return for ???
As Matt Levine points out. The highest level of control in Anthropic is the Class T shares held by “Humanity”, well not Humanity exactly. But four Trustees. Who select themselves and serve one term.
I’m sure they’ll do a fantastic job.
I discussed this in the Homer Jones lecture at the St. Louis Fed a few months ago.
When you look at the US part of the issue is that Republicans were a bit deranged about economy under Biden and Democrats even more so about economy under Trump.

NEW: "Donald Trump was an active participant in Jeffrey Epstein’s sexual abuse of young women during the mid-to-late 1990s," per new House Judiciary Dem report.
Report has new allegation that Trump raped a 24-year-old and then promised the victim a visa & NYU admission, demanding she stay quiet.
Remember when Trump did this for five minutes and it got genuine awareness of voters that he was for the working man.
Our politics is dangerously stupid.
The powerful executives who cozied up to Trump didn't oops accidentally forget about pendulum swings. They either:
1) Like the fascism
2) Calculated it was here to stay, so going along was savvy
3) Saw no real downside, no consequences when the pendulum swung
Crucial to show them 3 was a mistake
It is both very unlikely Trump will personally succeed at establishing a full-blown dictatorship before he's gone, and also the case that Trump's tenure in American politics has massively increased the chance this country will have a full-blown dictatorship at some point in the next 30 or 40 years.
