they usually change the ref in Japanese Simpsons. Some examples in JP Treehouse of Horror: "Look at me, I'm Davy Crockett!" → "I'm Mozart!" "James Coco went mad in 15 minutes." → "Elvis went mad in 15 minutes." "...and five John Denver Christmas specials." → "...and Julio Iglesias dinner shows."

I am always amazed when a joke about an American celeb makes it into a foreign localization as-is.

The most recent character I worked on is about to play their encore! The Team Beta Band, a.k.a. Mach the Rabbit, Max the Monkey and Sharps the Parakeet all rolled into one kart for #RingRacers. Commissioned by NoName999

Its like the rich are exploiting the fact that everything runs on debt and in the race to try and appease share holders meant including underfunding critical resources like say, tool development, security and the need for overbloated budgets. But don't worry AI is the absolute, expensive, solution.

bsky.app/profile/zeno... Everything has to be bigger, everything needs to be more complicated and of course, everything runs on debt. I'm not sure how the AAA game industry will come back from this. They're already stripping the copper wire. The crash is here.

Damion Schubert@zenofdesign.com

The end result is that the budgets for these games ballooned. The schedules for these games became impossible to predict. The teams - who I want to stress were some really smart people - were in a situation to build all-new tech and 'find the fun' in a new combat model that didn't exist before.

Don't get me started with Int Archive "Solving" the PHP problem with AI. No I don't believe the AI was able to solve a problem "uniquely" because they could pay extra money for what is at best a ransomware attack. Also going unchecked by any western government, they're invested in this AI grift too.

I was just saying to my husband this morning that it seemed like the new owners (Trump family members and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia) have no interest in Mass Effect, and just want some variation of sports gambling apps. This is also on EA for spending a decade prior smothering BioWare in crap

This guy who tanked the PlayStation brand has something to say.

PlayStation founder Ken Kutaragi says discs became "metaphor for 'owning' games", and that upset at their discontinuation is a "mentality issue" www.eurogamer.net/ken-kutaragi...

Last time there was a big issue with Xbox was them saying that the all digital future was inevitable. Now that guy didn't get fired (Despite people's claim) but these days the platform that is absolutely struggling with physical sales, it is far and away Xbox since there's little reason to own one.

I got somewhat lucky today, had another pair of glasses where the worst problem were the screws popped out of the frame, one missing. A local glasses shop was able to do an adjustment for free despite never buying a pair from there.

This is what Republicans do. Deeply un-serious people.

SCOOP: 'Tommy' from the now-viral exchange with Abdul El-Sayed is Thomas Teepell, a former staffer for Republican Senator Josh Hawley with close ties to Christian Nationalist Sean Feucht. He's the son of a former Bobby Jindal staffer whose consultant work was instrumental in getting Hawley elected.

I am still available for character commissions for #RingRacers, #SRB2Kart or other sprite work needs! Its been a great year for comm work and incredibly grateful to those who trusted me with their requests!

ko-fi.com/bartman3010/... I'm available for art commissions of #RingRacers characters ($130+) as well as sprite art for anything else including single sprites ($25) and icons ($10)! Take a look at my Ko-fi page for more information!

A thing I think about a lot is how directly this stuff is descended from casino customer-tracking apps as they were emerging in the 90s. Addiction By Design covers this in a chapter - casinos harvest data on videoslot players and then measure exactly where their "Frustration point" is on losses.

Morgan Johnson@poormojo.bsky.social

No joke. I think this is the most important video I have ever seen about mobile games. This guy breaks down how this game psychologically profiles you, and makes the game harder or easier in order to show you ads

For no reason, here's Sunstorm Interactive's farewell to the Build engine hidden in their Redneck Rampage expansion Route 66. (Map 7 of episode 2) Right before they got into Deer Hunter and eventually Duke Manhattan Project.

Something I vaguely gestured at got even cooler. Still something very 'small.' Or at least it will be a pleasant surprise. I'm not sure when you'll be able to see it though... Or maybe you have seen it?

Richard B. Gray - LEVELORD 11/15/1957 - 10/12/2026 Just heard the news that an old friend of mine has passed on. Richard Gray - aka Levelord has departed the planet. I know he's dealt with cancer on and off for awhile now, a word that I cannot stand. Word comes from his wife Olga.
