I was happy to contribute a short endorsement to Isabella Webber's new book. Look forward to the panel discussion we will hold in the Spring at Harvard with Isabella and Daron Acemoglu provocatively titled "Can Economics Save Democracy?"

"If this graph represented stock market prices, a new Olympic record or a medical test result, it would dominate the headlines." www.lyrebirddreaming.com/post/the-gra...

Given Trump’s Easter threats to carry out new war crimes in Iran, we should think one or two steps ahead about a coup attempt connected to the war. And then deter it. (1/17)

Germany is facing its deepest economic and democratic crisis in decades. Real wages are down, the far right is rising—and the new government has no plan that speaks to the scale of the challenge. A thread 🧵

If everyone would just stop fighting, there would be peace on Earth! 🕊 Not realistic? Try to genuinely imagine what it would take to realize net zero in time to keep global warming below 2.0°C. We are crossing 1.5°C as we speak. Let's keep it real!

No one who actually understands what the greenhouse gas forcing is questioned this graph of the GHG forcing of past 130,000 years. It looks unbelievable, but we'd better believe it. As this is the scale of humanity's impact on the global climate. We haven't seen anything yet
