To the person or persons who are #trespassing at #Acton, may all the anger of #Paddington Station descended upon your sweaty armpits and your family's as a massive rash. Incurable, please. (I do not even want to be in Paddington, I wanted to go from ealing broaway to reading, this is already plan B)

Astoundingly obvious corruption in plain sight. Just like Trump is transparent.

Don Moynihan@donmoyn.bsky.social

My brain cannot process this level of corruption. She was being paid $50 million to engineer a pardon from Trump *while working at the Justice Department* as a "Special Government Employee." And it worked. He got the pardon, and she got the money. www.nytimes.com/2026/10/20/u...

Not going to name the place other than it's close to the M20 in rainy Kent (which has few working streetlights and hardly any cats eyes) and the bar tap said #BirraMoretti, the beer is #Cruzcampo, staff say, and the glass? So much for branding... #Madri

I recently spoke on a fringe panel at TUC Congress about what comes next in the fight for trans rights. I was pleased that the congress passed a motion to oppose the EHRC Code of Practice, demonstrating that trade unionists understand that trans rights are a workers’ rights issue too.

Trump announced a deal with Putin to sell 4.8 million tonnes of Russian diesel, potentially worth $7.24 billion, while easing US sanctions. The deal would boost Russia’s war finances and undermine Ukraine’s efforts to cut off revenues funding Russia’s invasion.

Time for the bi-annual discussion about the winter / summer duvet, why do I always have empty bits of fabric at my end? Every year we try to recall which way round, what size, which set.of covers and it ends like this....

Since 1973, in the US over 200 death row prisoners were exonerated and released due to evidence of innocence. This ratio means that for roughly every 8 people executed 1 person on death row has been exonerated. Via Death Penalty Information Center (DPIC)

This is fantastic, but a real shame that Wallingford seems to have dropped off the proposed county network. Probably something to do with LGR? @goringgapcycling.bsky.social

Oxford Clarion@oxfordclarion.bsky.social

Plans have been unveiled for a network of cycle routes linking nearby towns and villages to Oxford, backed by county and city councils – and unusually, the University of Oxford. The Oxford Greenways would connect 200,000 residents to the city on traffic-free paths. oxfordclarion.uk/oxford-green...

Tories confused about whether they want the #triplelock or not. Good thread!

Torsten Bell@torstenbell.bsky.social

The Conservative Party debated for a couple of hours and decided that no, they are not a serious party. Inevitably.

Globalisation suddenly seems like a bad idea

POLITICO Europe@politico.eu

EXCLUSIVE: A U.S.-based data-extraction firm accused of being secretly run from Russia has worked on EU-backed projects and sold its services to European law enforcement agencies, according to documents seen by POLITICO.

Let's get #waronwalking the recognition it needs.

Urban Truth Collective@urbantruth.bsky.social

The WAR ON WALKING has taken many forms around the world. It’s often as simple as how we signal who space is and isn’t for. Once our eyes are opened to all the ways we’ve prioritized cars over people, we can’t unsee it. Frustrating photo contributed by @stadsplanering.bsky.social. #WarOnWalking

So, either I get a small shrub in tickets, or pay £1.40 more, or use GWR for more £. All because Trainline, when doing split tickets cannot persuade the authorities to let the few evaders go. Don't get me started on the ticket office, closed sadly, selling me the same journey for a lot less on 2 tix

Excellent journalism

HOPE not hate can conclusively prove that Stephen Lennon AKA Tommy Robinson’s business empire has been built on fraudulent means, tax evasion, and perjury. This is a long one. Strap in.🧵 hopenothate.org.uk/the-grift/

My partner just said, while I am reading out an article about where #PaulSimon now lives, whoch is clearly #AI written with photos of nice houses but not PSs houses: "AI has replaced teenagers".

50 green groups write to Andy Burnham demanding he be clear that climate change is the cause of the current extreme heat crisis. Greenpeace, WWF, Friends of the Earth and others say "the British public deserves leadership that speaks honestly about the nature of the challenges the country faces"

I did once get caught up in a real wild fire emergency and got an alert (it was abroad). As I was out cycling close to the Russian border, and my friend had fallen off his bike, for some reason I thought it was related to that. Think Russians following you on a bike!

It is remarkable how weeds are still green when everything else is parched.... are we missing something? Should we replace grass with weeds? Should weeds be studied for their secret? #drought #weeds
