At the Munich Security Conference, US Senator Mark Kelly said the global order did not change without reason and blamed Donald Trump for damaging it. He warned rebuilding alliances, especially in Europe, could take generations and said US strength relies on friends amid China’s rise. #Ukraine

As a result, added value, technology, and production competencies are concentrated "on the Chinese side," while Russia occupies the lower part of the chains.

This officially is the stupidest troll comment today. So, according Russian propaganda, it’s actually Ukraine who wanted to conquer Russia in 2022 (imagine that !)Though I gotta say do enjoy how demonic and powerful Russia paints us to be. Feeling like a powerful and pretty villain in a cute outfit

Free piece just released. Marco Rubio called on tolerant, democratic, liberal Europe to destroy itself and embrace a Trump-like future. He received a standing ovation and we are told some people are reassured. If so, Europe will deserve everything coming its way. open.substack.com/pub/phillips...

A woman was found dead under the rubble of her house in Odesa, Ukraine, after Russian drone bombed it. She was my mom’s age, I notice from reports. Good thing my mom’s dead already so I don’t need to worry about her being bombed by a Russian drone anymore. Valentine’s Day in Ukraine.

President Zelenskyy: Putin still has guarantees of financial stability.A large part of those guarantees lies here in Europe. Russian oil tankers still move freely along Europe’s shores—in the Baltic Sea, the North Sea, and the Mediterranean. Overall,Russia still uses more than a thousand tankers.

The ‘world order’ didn’t collapse bc Russia invaded Ukraine. It collapsed because the free world chose not to stop them. By refusing to use our wealth & power to defend even a European democracy, we showed dictators everywhere that aggression pays. That was the death blow. We did this to ourselves.

The Rubio speech was not a detente. It was the JD Vance message delivered with velvet rather than boxing gloves (h/t @fbermingham.bsky.social) He signalled 0 actionable compromises to the EU other than implicitly asking Europe to close its borders / round up migrants (and then the US offers what?)

I can see Europeans being excited about the polite-ish tone but diplomacy is also about substance and I didn’t see any. What am I missing?

She came to Ukraine, feeling the call to put her military skills to something meaningful. Here, she witnessed the consequences of war:civilians being killed, homes destroyed, families perishing while simply trying to live in safety. This became her motivation to stay and fight. 📹🖊️7corpsDSHV

For every promise about lowering mortgage rates or targeting private-equity homeowners, there’s a construction tariff — on wood, on steel, on copper, on rebar, roofing, window frames, stoves, sinks, kitchen cabinets and vanities. 🤡

It’s Day 443 of #GeorgiaProtests and Aza Chilachava, an elderly IDP from Abkhazia, still protests almost every day, even despite being targeted by the regime.

Mariam Nikuradze@mariamnikuradze.bsky.social

Aza Chilachava comes to protest almost every day over one year. She's an IDP from Abkhazia, who lives in a tiny room in an IDP settlement. She was fined for wearing a facemask at the protest when she was sick and was sentenced to one day in jail for protesting.

We asked www.PAXIS.app: A masked protester is exercising a constitutional right. The First Amendment protects anonymous speech and assembly. A masked government agent is exercising state power. The Fourth Amendment demands accountability. Private speech can be anonymous. Government force cannot.

I know this sounds simplistic, but it is a very good thing that the Trump administration is now squarely on the defensive - about ICE, but also about most things - and it’s great that Dems are sustaining the pressure. Credit where it’s due.

SLOTKIN: So the fact we have ICE agents saying out loud to people they're trying to arrest that 'we're gonna put you in a database,' they are making that up? LYONS: We do not do that
