Hi. I study biophysics and quantum optics. My opinions are in a superposition of being both completely serious and entirely farcical.

The funny thing about a certain type of angry conspiracy guy is that they’re literally being confronted with an elite paedophile ring and a tyrannical government at the same time right now, and because it isn't being done by the people they wanted it to be done by they’re all being pussies about it

I think it is OUTRAGEOUS that people are LEAPING to the conclusion that some our post prominent Americans are child rapists when it is EQUALLY PLAUSIBLE that they are simply indifferent to whether other people are child rapists so long as those other people can offer them access to power.

I'm astounded that the "soy causes estrogenation, and therefore has lead to the feminization of the world" crowd and **the literal soybean farmers and food industry** have managed to remain in the same political coalition with each other for so long

All-Star Weekend should just be NBA players playing games that players in the NBA care about, that pose little-to-no risk of injury (golf, 2k, Madden, CoD, Catan), instead of the slop they try to serve us in that farce of a game

At this point, it's actually good that the most obstinate and disagreeable progressives and leftists are so defiant against wanting to acknowledge Bsky's obvious issues. By quarantining themselves here, they reduce their imprint on culture, meaning fascists can't use them as agitprop for normies.

Trump winning support from terminally online young men and then appointing RFK Jr. to ban Vyvanse and put autists into work camps is the right wing Stalinist version of how Democrats win elections through appealing to black people and then use that political power to ban menthol cigarettes

Listening to journalists tell stories about how, because they wanted to discover something about a person of interest 5+ years ago, they read through thousands of pages of legal documents, feels like science fiction in the present age.

It's very unlikely that most people who think affirmative action should be outright abolished, or that the entire premise of DEI is a mistake, reject The Bell Curve thesis: that intelligence is genetically determined, and that Black Americans are in the position of not being worthy of investment.

“The New York Times collaborated with a white nationalist eugenicist hacker and agreed to keep his identity a secret to publish a Zohran Mamdani hit piece” is a way bigger story than “18 year old Zohran Mamdani ticked ‘African American’ on his Columbia application because he was a citizen of Uganda”

Corruption requires explict quid pro quo. It is not corrupt to take an action that aligns with the interest of a person who gives you a gift, unless the official action was in direct response to that gift--a bribe. Terms matter. Accuracy and fairness matters. Regardless of what social media wants.

NEW @celticsclns.bsky.social -- Derrick White thanked Draymond Green and the #Warriors for changing 'my life' by exposing his 3PT in the 2022 Finals. Three years later, he broke the #Celtics' single-season 3PT record: www.clnsmedia.com/derrick-whit...

My friend told me that he thinks Jayson Tatum is going to shoot 86% from the free throw line next year. So I did a hierarchical Bayesian analysis to show him that, if the line for Tatum shooting over 86% from the line next year is less than +500, he should not take that bet.

The horror show continues at NIH I am hearing (reliably) that RIFs have started with entire institute Communication branches being terminated since their jobs not longer exist (reduction in force). But that is not all...

You don't truly appreciate what Sam Altman means when he uses the phrase, "We need more compute" until you get locked out of rendering iconic stills from every Attack on Titan episode in 1990s British claymation style for 21 minutes

There is lively debate and fractious fighting within the Democratic Party right now about what direction the party should take, not just on various issues, but the unifying meta-narrative of the party itself. What is this person talking about?

Boo!-per Lund@cooperlund.online

If you’re going to write an op-ed like this as a newspaper, I had better see at least one example of a “scolding, censorious posture”, or else I’m just going to assume that the actual problem is that getting yelled at by strangers online has melted everyone on the Editorial Board’s brains

"Disruption" is a simple but brilliant strategy to make oligarchic wealth transfer from the public to the private look like cutting-edge innovation of civil society

JA Westenberg@joanwestenberg.com

When tech dudes say ‘we’re disruptive’ what they really mean is ‘we found a way to extract rent from a thing that worked fine before we got here.’

Every single Democrat posting "of course government waste is a problem, but..." is providing cover for this plundering.

If the Democrats are actually concerned about big donor dollars, they should actively lean into messaging about corruption and the undermining of the rule of law. There are tons of Dem-friendly donors that will shill for maintaining our system of property rights. Bland centrism isn't enough.
