In case that there’s anyone following me here who doesn’t on IG, this month I’m running 195km - the distance from Jenin to Gaza - to raise money for MAP. 123km down, 72km to go. If you’ve got a few quid spare, please consider donating. medicalaidforpalestinians.enthuse.com/pf/matthew-h...

A new survey of 1,000 American adults found that the strongest supporters of transgender sports bans are not the people who admire women most: they are the people who hold the most hostile views about women. www.helenwebberley.com/news/transge...

With 83% of the vote counted nationwide, Lula has stretched his lead to 2.8 million votes. That's a lead of 51.4% to 48.6%. That puts him on track for a victory that could be larger than his 1.8% win four years ago, which would be an immense comeback. He's even up in Minas Gervais now, by 0.6%.

Guillermo Del Toro dropping another one liner that’s exactly how I feel about AI slop, the “punishment” is built in

Growing up I hated maths but always said "well who cares because I'll always have a calculator" and even though it's true now bc of phones, I am now absolutely shit at maths, to the point where that part of my brain doesn't work at all. And that's basically what AI will do to creative thinking lol

Doing any kind of basic sum in my head takes me ages, and yeah I am just bad at maths probably but also that is definitely a brain function I have just neglected and given up on bc of tech. And I don't see how AI won't do the exact same thing to reading, writing etc

You have to laugh at the sheer insanity of Turning Point UK being found to be organising literal contract killings and paid agitation at protests up and down the country and it barely even raises a flicker across the press. If that isn't 'terrorism' on some level I don't really know what is

We've uncovered that this group of people, funded by a foreign country, are, in conjunction with previously convicted terrorist groups, organising killings, paid protest agitation, and masked rioting across the UK. But they do have some legitimate concerns, so,

choosing in 2016 or so to not engage with politics via podcasts nor youtube is maybe the only decision i've ever made that left me more normal afterwards

Quite funny in a horrifying dystopian way that people who complain about the noise from inner city clubs or pubs, which immediately get their licenses checked, will soon be having to deal with the unholy hum and vibration of data centres that are seemingly untouchable complaints wise, and x10 louder

I know they will invariably place these things as close to council housing as they can but there’s no way like the one in like Brick Lane for eg it won’t also affect people who pay loads of money for a quiet city. Unfortunately the council don’t actually care about noise they just care about money!

I was doing security at a club in Hackney and literally spent 8 hours telling people in the smoking area to be quiet because even a slight din was enough to get the neighbours up their arse. But brutal, 24/7 data centre noise? The sound of progress!

With things like 'roasts' and the incessant whooping for jokes on SNL UK, there is also a worrying yankification trend in British comedy. If we lose our unique sense of humour to be more Americanised I'm sorry but we might as well just fucking call it a day

I like the fact that we are supporting comedy more, but only if it stays uniquely British. The way we wholesale accept the Americanisation of our culture is a fucking disgrace lol, especially when our humour is one of the last things that makes me proud to be from the UK

There's 100% a kind of post-woke-1 frisson where people are seeing how far they can push it again after a period in which they felt they weren't allowed.

the audiences that go to ‘roasts’ are expecting to hear a lot of very bad taste jokes, including deliberately bigoted ones, which is all whatever, but why would you clip yourself telling a joke like that and share it with a general audience

Never cared about Vittorio Angelone but there’s just something really weird about the completely tone deaf approach of male comedians at the moment. If you can even look past the aggressive misogyny, the jokes just seem incredibly unfunny but also specifically bad for PR. Why are they doing it?

I do understand comedians say “offensive“ things and that’s “part of the humour“ or whatever bullshit they love saying. It just seems jarringly out of touch to the point of being purposeful somehow. Like they’re trying to be seen as cunts? I can’t really put my finger on it

I listened back to this episode on the way home today, and Jake’s story of being imprisoned in Turkey captures the best and worst of humanity. Highly recommend checking it out.

Next up on Tangible Vibe Shift is @hanrahan.tv of Away Days and Popular Front, discussing being stuck in Turkish prison. A really good episode if I do say so myself youtu.be/wSWw4ZDInS0?...

I’m sure this will mean that Netflix, YouTube Premium, Prime Video, and Disney+ will be available for free and without adverts, right? Because it would be ridiculous to expect me to pay twice for a service, just because the BBC needs some more money for the transphobia and racism machine.

There were riots in 1995 in Brixton and the Dogstar got trashed because it was a "yuppie" pub. The idea there is a before and after with gentrification is a misunderstanding

This thing where both these conditions are now inextricably linked is really dishonest and tbh I find it quite offensive to people who are severely impacted by autism lol
