if you want to get started playing Cinematrix, today’s puzzle requires you to come up with three Taika Waititi movies, which is a nice soft start if you know your nz films www.vulture.com/article/dail...
they’ve put up the halloween decorations for this year but i just feel like they’re lacking in… axes. tricycles. twins. or something idk
Look I’m just saying, if they didn’t want me continually posting about living in the hotel from The Shining then they shouldn’t have made it look like the hotel from The Shining

“The bird was docile in my arms. Its feathers were airy despite the thick mist. Long eyelashlike whiskers surrounded dark and inscrutable eyes... it smelled of barnyard dust in the sun.” In which @carlbergstrom.com carefully cuddles a kiwi. A lovely, thoughtful read about our national treasures. 💚
my gf and i have been playing Cinematrix lately, which has been humbling. earlier this week we had to come up with the names of three jennifer aniston movies and managed to name movies starring every single 2000s jennifer except aniston www.vulture.com/article/dail...

Thea’s name is difficult to say in Japanese, so i nicknamed her “Hacchan” in japanese. my mother says this is extremely cute and I was figuring out to translate that to Thea in english, bc it’s not baby animal cute but more in a pretty way but then i realised. the word i was looking for was Kawaii 🤦🏻♀️

the Academy cinema was doing a Takashi Miike retrospective and my gf and i went and watched it. Now I know what happens at the end of Audition! and uhhhh wow, things sure happened
once, a long time ago, my mom took me to the movies bc she saw a japanese movie was on, except that movie turned out to be Audition. luckily we left before all of the torture started. Now she looks at movie synopses ahead of time.

“accidentally booked a love hotel instead of a regular one” is an amazing review genre on booking.com though
Japan's law doesn't define a love hotel by what it's for. It's about how the space is set up, such as a small lobby, a screened entrance, and a front desk designed to prevent face-to-face contact. Even one room with one qualifying fixture can be enough.

A paper in Nature Communications reports a detailed structural analysis of the Roman Empire’s entire road network, covering topographical information from nearly 300,000 km of roads. go.nature.com/4gU64b5 🏺🧪
The first in a sizzling new romantasy series by best-selling author Nicky Hager. A slow burn, spicy dark romantasy which follows the forbidden enemies-to-lovers romance between a girl and a dragon-shapeshifter Prince of the Fae. Perfect for fans of Fourth Wing and A Court of Thorns and Roses.
Nicky Hager's new book topic? wrong answers only
i hope this guy is feeling extremely justified right now
Not my personal grudge, but I recently played a video game developed by a guy so mad at Ed Sheeran that he wrote 4 songs and programmed an entire game. it was actually really good too. i was impressed by the power of Spite Driven Development owlskip-games.itch.io/copy-right

Coincidentally, Saw (2004) also completes this challenge perfectly
📽️ #MovieChallenge 2026 - Week 37 This week we're looking for movies in which someone feels or literally is walled in e.g. stuck in a room, building, situation, fictional world or anywhere else that feels impossible to escape. Quote once done. More info below: cinechums.com/challenges/w...
saw all three Back to the Future movies yesterday and today as part of my "watch 100 new movies over 100 days" project bc I saw this date was coming up. ironically, bc i saw Part 2 and 3 both today, i'm now one movie ahead of schedule
Sep 7th 1885 - After being shot on the 5th Sept by Buford "Mad Dog" Tannen, Doc Brown died. In another timeline, Doc gets Marty back to 1985, but the people of Hill Valley think Clint Eastwood fell into Shonash Ravine. 📽️📅 Back to the Future Part III (1990)

Shinjuku station is easy! You just follow this map satoshi7190.github.io/Shinjuku-ind...
Shinjuku and Shibuya are considered the two most complex stations in Tokyo - and that's the opinion of the locals who use them every day. Shinjuku's underground is so hard to navigate that some have labeled it the "Dungeon Station."
