The book no-one wanted her to write. The book no-one wants to sell. The book no-one wants to buy. The book no charity shop wants to receive. The only book to rival Suella Braverman's in the pulping queue. Lettuce Liz has got to spend the rest of her life living inside this head, what a grim thought.

Trump claims to have had the Fairford suspects "under investigation". Yet it was a vigilant person from the neighbouring village who alerted the police to suspicious activity. Nothing to do with the US having them "under view" and the US certainly didn't "get them". He's nuts. #Trump

The media is debating whether several hundred masked thugs, many of whom have criminal convictions for violence, swarming across streets is "intimidating". This is the same media who has spent decades telling us that three teenagers on a street corner is unacceptable anti-social behaviour. ffs.

This is deeply shocking.

Content warning: Multiple men violently assault a female protester at Reform's conference at the Birmingham NEC, to the visible delight of Nigel Farage.

James Cleverly resigns from shadow cabinet to run for mayor of London Londoners, who voted by a significant margin to remain in the EU, should never forget Cleverly was a poster boy for brexit and reject this chancer outright.

When did society decide that violence against women (and don’t get me started on this “consensual” nonsense) was ever appropriate or acceptable? This isn’t just a matter of education but of morality - which has a place in every society, no matter how “liberal”.

Dolly Parton's legacy extends beyond her extraordinary music. She touched countless lives through her generosity, including through her Imagination Library in London, bringing the joy of reading to children across the capital. My thoughts are with her loved ones and fans around the world.

This is of course, a creation of the right & of Brexit, sadly abetted by UK press & media. Brexit led to the departure of EU healthcare staff who'd been popping up the NHS, to be replaced by non-white folk from S Asia & Africa. Switch then gleefully exploited by the same racists who drove Brexit.

"There's a real thing going on in the composition of the staff...does that not have to be looked at as well?" Nick Robinson, on Today, discussing this news.sky.com/story/nhs-st...

@toni.bsky.team What have you got against 'liberals'? Please don't fall into Musk's trap. Liberal views are held by many, and not all are clubbable. And not all agree with each other. Please don't allow BlueSky to become a cesspit like the 'other place'. People choose BlueSky over X for a reason.

@bylinetimes.bsky.social doing excellent journalism on Reform’s extremely dodgy money people.

Adam Bienkov@adambienkov.bsky.social

Reform UK donor and Farage ally George Cottrell carried a fake Swiss passport under the name ‘Oscar Drewitt’. Cottrell was hired under the name by the future Reform treasurer Mehrtash A’zami. A’zami later vetted Cottrell’s mother's donations to Reform, now the subject of a police investigation

Very saddened by the news of the death of Ed Stourton, whose voice and journalism always calmed and impressed. Condolences to his family and all those close to him.

She wanted to be in this war and argued that the only reason Keir Starmer didn't want to is that he was in hoc to British Muslims. Not a serious person.

🚨 Kemi Badenoch rubbishes Donald Trump's Iran deal. She tells me at a press conference the war "definitely was not worth that deal." Said Trump "clearly" had no exit plan. Said paying to use the Strait of Hormuz leaves us "in a worse position" than before the war.

This, from Israeli National Security Minister Ben-Givr, is the what unvarnished evil and inhumanity sounds like: "For every tear of an Israeli mother, a thousand Lebanese must weep." When you dehumanize other people to this degree, there's no limit to the atrocities you'll carry out.

The brutality of this has been at the front of my mind | A shameful business A win for mostly the wrong people Exposed worst in too many pundits + journalists Hope that I'm not the only one who thinks this Only hope the Starmers know that some will see this as a day to feel ashamed of UK politics

As a member of the London Assembly (with responsibility for an emergency service) and leader of a national party, your disdain for the assault on two members of the police, engaged in their lawful duties, is both remarkable and shocking. Direct action should not involve violence.

I’m sorry but this analogy doesn’t even work. The Nazis didn’t storm the beaches, we did. They came by land.

Hegseth at Normandy: "Sadly, today, different European beaches are stormed by different dangerous ideologies. Beaches in Spain and Italy and Greece and Bulgaria. Boats and men arrive. When will European capitals do something about that invasion? Or is it too late? I pray not, and I believe not."
