With the price of USB drives and SD cards being so high now, getting back into burning DVD-Rs might be the best option for me sharing data physically now.

Pretty label floppy disks 💜 I was kindly given a heads-up on how the MSX-Fan animal mascot showed up on the floppy disks included with the magazine. And thanks to 'Bin Bowie' who grabbed a bunch of them and did high-quality scans for IA, we can see just how MSX-Fan went to town on the labels too.

Looks like YouTube videos aren't playing for me offsite anymore. It's a real shame since it breaks posts on Reddit and makes it hard to sample songs for releases on Discogs. Dunno if it's just me with this issue.

This is awesome. I can't wait to try this out on original hardware!

SimCity SA-1 now has gesture controls. You all know me about my SA-1 work, but it's not just about accelerating games. It's about improving games to make they even more AMAZING than what they already are. Place a lot of roads, parks, wires & more with your mouse!

I was just looking through my clipping tool outputs on my computer. I don't remember what magazine I was looking at that had this illustration in it, but this Nintendo Playstation concept design is hot.

I just woke up from a goofy-ass dream where I unlocked Alec Baldwin in Mortal Kombat 3, but for whatever reason all of his sprites were upside down.

Somehow YouTube's search algorithm has become completely and entirely useless, autocorrecting terms and words used from band names and fiction and not letting me un-autocorrect them. fantastic job, Google.

The notifications for the eBay app on my phone have been going crazy recently. I guess they really want me to completely drain my bank account for junk I don't need, don't they? :V

Ask anyone who grew up with a Dendy or a Terminator or a Polystation if lack of access to the latest expensive hardware stopped them getting into games

Partial counterpoint: new hardware is always unobtainable for a large number of children around the world, due to price. What do they play!? Everything they possibly can on every used console, simple mobile device, anything. Not great for new huge games, but you could sooner eradicate cockroaches.

It's been a while since I've checked it last, but today I found out Tomato's EB fansite Earthbound Central hasn't been up for over 3 years. ☹️

Imagine posting on "social media" and having comments entirely turned off for your posts. It's like you only want to be heard but don't actually want to interact with people. Weird shit.

This is in regards to retro gaming. I hate how anything that's remotely good while being non-mainstream costs an arm and a leg now. I do research on games I'd love to own only to see that they're $300+, and that's without the box. I guess I should stock up on flash carts for every system now.

Supposedly I have 30+ notifications on here but I can't view them because the app is broken trash. At this rate everyone should just go back to personal websites because Bluesky sucks ass.

Now that's fixed itself right after I posted that but I can't view my own profile now. Lovely... And there wasn't actually 30+ notifications to everyone's "surprise" lmao.

"Members Only" videos have to be the lamest thing about YouTube nowadays. I've been seeing them more and more recently, and only from people who have small audiences. It seems a bit counter intuitive to building a viewer base imo.

Me trying to sleep: My new cat at 5AM: MEOW!! MEOW!! MEOW!! MEOW!! MEOW!! MEOW!! MEOW!! MEOW!! MEOW!! MEOW!! MEOW!! MEOW!! I really hope he grows out of this... lol

Getting past a toner's DRM by going into the printer's service menu and resetting the value for the toner cartridge's capacity wasn't something I expected to ever do. The future is weird.

I don't know if there's been a change in mentality in Japan with regard to religious symbols in games, or if Sega was aware that people were going to import its console, but in the JPN version of the MD Mini 2, Shining in the Darkness includes the changes made for the Western ver. ~30 years earlier.

Yes it's entirely in Japanese, and yes you probably need an old computer to run it, but I thought this was cool albeit niche. I've uploaded the IBM WebSphere Studio Homepage Builder V6.5 suite to the Internet Archive, complete with 600DPI scans for whoever wants them. archive.org/details/IBMH...

I swear this is the 3rd time I've gotten a dead/malfunctioning hard drive from a seller on eBay. Nobody seems to know how to ship HDDs. The one that arrived in the mail today was shipped bare in a cardboard box without an anti-static bag or any padding whatsoever.
