New paper w/ @lstoetze.bsky.social "Estimating Treatment Effects on Proportions with Synthetic Controls" out in @polanalysis.bsky.social 👀 When your outcomes are compositional (such as vote shares), applying synthetic controls separately to each part can break the math. We show how to fix it: 🧵

Asking for a little help with one of the articles of my thesis. Does anyone know a guide or paper discussing the use of survey weights in multilevel models with panel data? I’m struggling a bit with understanding which is the best way to include them in my model. Or if not include them altogether.

I really, really do not want Britain's first (openly) LGBTQ+ prime minister to be Wes - just throw trans folks under the bus- Streeting.

We show how factors such as primary language, national identity, ancestry and partisanship (among others), while showing small effects, constitute a pattern of name preferences in adoption solicitations. 👉 Free access in Political Psychology: doi.org/10.1111%2Fpo...

Homophobia alive and well in adoption decision-making 😱

Yet to surpass the (professional) fun we had in writing this piece now out in latest issue of @psrm.bsky.social We know political identities share the valence we assign to others. Here we asked, do valence signals also shape the partisanship we assign to others? doi.org/10.1017/psrm...

Thrilled to share our new paper with amazing Agus. We show that non-traditional families, especially open and age-gap couples, face substantial prejudice. Even LGB couples encounter bias, highlighting persistent inequalities in societies often seen as tolerant.

Furthermore, our interactions showed a compounded effect between sexuality, relationship type and age difference. Both open and age-gap homosexual couples, especially those consisting of two men, were significantly less preferred than heterosexual couples with the same characteristics.

We conducted a conjoint experiment as part of the 2022 Sociopolitical Survey of the Centre d'Estudis d'Opinió in Catalonia. In this experiment, we asked 4,298 respondents to select one of two couples seeking to adopt a child, after evaluating different characteristics that were fully randomised.

Our general model of marginal means revealed multiple layers of sexual prejudice within the Catalan society. Respondents showed significantly less preference for non-traditional relationships, including same-sex couples, and particularly open and age-gap relationships.

Within the next decade the radical right is going to be the main force on the right in Europe (national and EU level). This includes far-right parties and formerly centre-right parties shifting their position. Moderate conservatism and Christian democracy will largely disappear on the right. 1/

X is the megaphone of 21st century fascism and authoritariansim. It has poisoned public debate. It is a tool for bullying, abuse, and assault. X needs to disappear from our discourse. When people and institutions post there, it gives X credibility. It keeps it relevant. It's time to stop.

And it may seem like not a big deal. But while *you* are great people who accept queer kids, that's not as common as you'd hope. New research shows only half of gay or lesbian people have parents who accept them. Only 31% of trans people have parents that do. www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/...

pewresearch.orgMore than 9 in 10 LGBTQ adults in the U.S. are ‘out’ to someoneToday, 96% of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or queer adults in the United States say they have told someone that they are or might be LGBTQ.

It may not be as personality-driven as the hot stories, but I think people should read this article about the "conversion therapy" case. The right is recasting child abuse as autonomous kids making their own choices. It's vile. It's victim-blaming. www.salon.com/2025/10/08/s...
