NYC, please keep your mayor out of the police department gym, I'm begging ya! It doesn't end well...

I don't know that there is a definitive line to cross that makes you say, "I live in a police state now" but when masked gunmen can routinely brutalize the public, citizen or immigrant alike, with impunity, you have reached that point.

I should have mentioned that my office is Minneapolis Elections & Voter Services. The Mayor's budget eliminates seven staff members less than two weeks before an anxiety-inducing midterm. No more high school election judge program. No more voter outreach.

When the mayor's proposed budget eliminates half our office, we fortify ourselves with baked goods. Yesterday it was pastries from Dahlia. Today our colleague baked for us.

A week or so late to this, but here it is! This fall, Minneapolis Public Works crews are constructing dozens of treatments like this, as well as median islands, as a part of our Neighborhood Traffic Calming, Vision Zero, and other related programs.

CVS have failed to offload their old store in whittier after closing it almost 2 years ago, removing a pharmacy from this area, and to prevent people from sitting on the steps, they’ve now constructed a wall made from bricks stacked together. lovely. really ties it all together!

Ok, I went back and they are not loose. They’re mortared together. But there is a giant hole in the middle!! So it will turn into a trash can and/or fire pit at some point.

This is what counts as a straight line in St Paul

I just think it's neat that Prosperity/ Phalen/ Pennsylvania/ Marion/ Kellogg/ 3rd St is one continuous winding 12 mile boulevard/ road around St Paul. It even used to go all the way to WBL before White Bear Ave/ Hwy 36 construction and 3M campus in Maplewood cut it off.

the political ads on tv right now in mn are so full of hatred of Somali people. they're racist, and full of dog-whistles, and fear. if you don't live here and you see the ads, they tell such a wrong story about Minnesota.

NC 12 this morning. As much as I love this road, I think it's time to give it up and set up a ferry service into Rodanthe. The only other option I can think of would be to turn it into a raised bridge.
