I know absolutely nothing about Lula except that i saw someone share a clip on insta of him in celebration kissing a trans woman politician on the cheek and oh my god is that a radical act for a politician in 2026 so lets fucking go

And there we are! Another day, another 1,003 words. I'm looking forward to tomorrow, when I fill in a section and stumble headlong into a major plot twist. Color me excited!

I just saw this on IG and was so infuriated. It's a dirty lowdown shame!

FLORIDA — Insane: Winter Park police called on 3 year old for being too good at soccer because 5 year olds couldn’t get the ball from him. (H/T @the_public_defender2) More: blacksportsonline.com/2026/10/poli... Their TikTok account: www.tiktok.com/@nevadaney10...

Name a fictional character death you haven’t gotten over. The entire reason I never watched House of Dragons or whatever it was called.

While I was out of the office, my colleague Kim Key covered this week's infosec roundup, and she makes a great point here... (She is, to her immense credit, not on social media, and I think about joining her in that every day...)

Strangeness afoot: I texted the agency and the aide yesterday, and neither responded. Today, the aide showed up. Says the agency—unironically named High Standard Home Care—didn't tell her she was supposed to show up until today. We need an aide, but dare I trust either of them with my father's care?

Fried Bologna, indeed. [casts side eye]

CBS identified Illinois based Three Z Printing as the holder of the permit associated with the fake transgender mailers. One of the owners, Matt Zerrusen, is based in Dallas. His Instagram shows pictures with Charlie Kirk and Donald Trump, and comments from local Republicans.

Finally watching Ride or Die. I know—way behind the mule. (I may be wearing hoof prints in my forehead.) It's fantastic. I've only seen the first two episodes, but wow!

I just quit my gym. Feels like a breakup: It’s not you, it’s me. I have issues with this kind of commitment. I’m just not seeing the growth I’d expected to by now. We both deserve better. I’d really like it if we could still be friends.

This was a rough week for literary progress in terms of word count, but I did make significant headway regarding how to better fill the pages of Chapter Seven—and what content to do it with—so I’m taking it as a win.

Official poster for the heist drama series ‘12 12 12’ starring Anthony Mackie and Jamie Dornan. A heist takes 12 months to plan, 12 hours to execute, and a thief not caught within 12 days won't be caught at all. An FBI agent and a criminal face off. 📺: Apple TV | November 13th

The Executive Branch has no authority to regulate states’ election decisions as to candidate qualifications, and the choice to file a lawsuit like this just days before an election speaks volumes about the political corruption festering at the top levels of the DOJ.

In honor of Julie Dash's 74th birthday today, you should watch "Daughters of the Dust." And it's free on Tubi It was only 35 years ago that she was the first Black woman to have a movie with a theatrical run

You ever heard of Julie Dash? Some of you undoubtedly have, but quite a few I'd imagine not. Julie Dash is the first Black woman (ever) to have a full-length film with a theatrical release in the United States. In 1991. There's a book as well. Julie Dash turns 73 years old today

I bought a ticket to the world, and now I've come back again. Back at over 1,000 words, Baby! And now I'm starving, so it's time for some comida up in this bitch! Whew!

Coming of Age was rejected by so many editors & the throughline was always that it was unmarketable. In the past week I've convinced 200 people to preorder it. No publisher, no cover, just an excerpt and a promise. If you want to join them, you can here: www.backerkit.com/c/projects/a...

Tonight’s Amber Mark show at the Blue Note was a breathtaking event to remember! She even performed my favorite song, “Space and Time.” The band was immaculate, and Amber even touched my hand (and heart) and called me beautiful!

I think we put too much pressure on people to forgive, and not enough responsibility on those who caused the pain. Forgiveness may bring peace to some people, but it shouldn’t be treated as a requirement for everyone to move forward.
