Stealing this from Facebook The narrowest gauge industrial railway in the world was fucking OO gauge A Hornby Dublo 4MT transported radioactive material for the Atomic Energy Authority because the chamber was too toxic for humans to enter

Happy birthday to this majestic man. I do not know the birthday of the majestic goat.

Liam@wtyppod.com

It is my 35th birthday. I never thought I’d make it this far. Thank you for listening to my dumb shows and liking my dumb posts.

Folks you're going to see a model railroad like you wouldn't believe

Peter@notalawyer.bsky.social

question for the audience: if you were ultra rich (let’s say $25M), what completely frivolous thing are you buying?

It's been closed since before I moved here and I'm baffled by whatever weird construction thing they're doing in the old parking lot, but if you're a Cities Skylines 2 player who uses the USSW region pack, you might recognize this one.

If this thing has more than two horsepower I'm calling a lawyer. Slam dunk false advertising case.

Some of you will have seen the new Citroen 2CV already. I’m at the launch and I think it looks great. Smaller, lighter, electric and really not expensive

I know it's not the point, but it looks like grok bought one of the Lego Star Wars "Smart Brick" sets, which have been extremely widely panned too. It couldn't even pick a good Lego set! (Also lol at leaking your own address and credit card)

(It's also on sale on Amazon right now for $20 off, so elon's dumb ai couldn't even compare prices between major online storefronts to get him a deal)

This thing was already going to be the best in the business on announcement 3 years ago, and it's only gotten better with time. I can't wait to get my hands on it.

We can't believe it has already been 3 years since we announced Century of Steam, and it hadn't struck us how far our game has come in that time until now. As a sneak peek of the upcoming progress vlog, we've been able to use the savings from our optimization to afford some huge leaps in quality!

Going insane trying to find a way to get HO scale figures that actually represent diverse places and era-specific clothes... Turns out it's not great that both major figure manufacturers are just Germans - they have more types of nude figures than they have non-white train passengers.

And my 3D modeling experience ends *just* shy of modeling my own figures... if you've done any 3D character design/modeling, get in touch! I'd love to work together on this both for my hobby crap and others'. It's time for passengers that reflect the world!

Good luck, Michael!

Good morning from Everett! I am about to start my first attempt at an ORCA speedrun: traveling on every mode of fixed-route transit offered by each of the nine agencies in the ORCA pod. This journey will require taking at least 13 buses, 4 boats, and 4 trains throughout Puget Sound.

You may only think the National Highway System are interstates, but *tons* of urban streets are part of it. This bill would eliminate the bike lanes on Market St in SF, Telegraph Avenue in Oakland, the BRAND NEW 14th St bike lanes in Oakland, and many more key bike corridors.

I don't think this has anything *really* to do with why NYC felt so fake in the movie (when you have to shoot the whole city in a 3-block part of Glasgow, you really don't get the vibe right), but it's absolutely a bad look.

The art book for ‘SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY’ reveals that generative AI was used in concept design of NYC for the film. (Source: thedirect.com/article/spid...)

It's especially annoying since so many of the other Marvel movies seem to get NYC more "right" - even when not filmed on location there. In this one they refer to a "downtown headquarters" and it's on Central Park South. Spidey is supposed to be from the city - he'd never get that wrong.

Oakland could run a looooot of after school programs with that sort of money

99 cops and firefighters took home total annual pay packages for 2025 exceeding $500,000, due mostly to overtime. Altogether, 103 city employees had compensation above half a million. In total, it cost the city $59 million to employ this elite group of workers. oaklandside.org/2026/08/11/o...
