This is some Russian shit. America should *never* be a safe place for authoritarian to flee to.

WASHINGTON (AP) — State Department says it will give US visas to defeated Brazilian presidential candidate Flávio Bolsonaro and his family.

Also, the trending page with all the "The Trump admin gave refuge to a corrupt authoritarian fleeing justice in their home country, here's how it's actually the Democrat's fault" can fuck all the way off.

Voting works, voting is important.

The long-serving strongman leader of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, has conceded defeat in an election that pitted him and his right-wing party against a diverse student-led opposition movement that spent two years protesting his government.

My unpopular but persistent belief is that almost everything in our lives has gotten better and we’re weirdly incapable of seeing it.

Social media loves talking about how everything is getting worse. But what’s something that you’ve seen get _better_ in your lifetime?

Fucking cowards.

Breaking news: The Justice Department has moved to preemptively block certification of the results of Alaska’s Senate race if Republican incumbent Sen. Dan S. Sullivan loses his tight race against Democrat Mary Peltola next month.

Conservative and Republican's obsession with girl cock was bound to start biting them in the ass sooner or later; especially in the current climate.

As one of the candidates featured in these polls - the infamous one in late June that showed me plummeting into single digits (which was at odds with our internals) - here's the impact of this "experiment"

🧵 Early voting has begun in Colorado, and the outcome has important implications for the state’s democracy. An election denier is running to oversee state elections, and a GOP-backed attempt to heighten ID requirements for voting is on the ballot. Here’s what to know 👇

He's really ramping up his '28 run. This guy is much more dangerous than Trump in every way. He's smarter, more articulate, and ideologically driven. This is the actual fascist threat imo.

What I consider "best" in terms of craft is hardly ever my "favorite". Sure, there's some overlap, but I'm not seeking a novel that follows every rule, puts prose over character, or appeals to the more academic reader (she says as an English major). I want something beautiful, messy, or melancholy.

Hot take: Wealth taxes are actually dumb and not the best way to tax higher income brackets. If you want better government funding, wealth taxes are just not the best way to do it. It's literally just populist slop.

The DSA, Schrödinger’s socialists. It’s like this all the time. Official DSA National organs and people will write pro-Fidel stuff and do other praxis posting. But when asked, DSA-ers run away from the label, suggest it’s all fear mongering, and plead smol-beanism. And I like plenty of DSA pols!

Paul-tergeist Crider@paulcrider.liberalcurrents.com

And then they act like it's out of bounds to ask about Fidel Castro. One of them suggests Castro has nothing to do with DSA. But it was like a month ago DSA National posted this glow-up Happy Centennial to Fidel! Also, I dunno, attitudes to Castro seems relevant in *Florida*.
