WHAT. A. CONFERENCE. 💛 It’s been a couple of weeks, and we’re still recovering from the high from our first ZurichJS Conf edition. With our dopamine resets comes a time for reflection and starting to plan the very loudly requested second edition.

Hearing a lot of this kind of take.. It's only as true as the doomscrolling happiness is: fleeting, moments at a time. Learning is struggling. And struggling leads to a feeling of accomplishment that's more sustainable in the long run.

As much as it sucks to struggle, when you solve a problem through sweat (and maybe tears), that's a different kind of feeling. Sitting with the uncomfortable is what makes the reward worth it. Babysitting an AI isn't as uncomfortable, and the "almost there" high is unsustainable in the long run

Waking up 5:40 with no alarm is peak 30s performance in my book😅 Means I did it right to fall asleep when I should and that it's consistent enough that I can wake up naturally. Some wins feel different😁

Noticed in the train today with almost no reception: You have stale data and a small loading signifier Then you catch a tiny bit of a connection... The data you saw refreshes You assume it's all good Then full signal kicks in. Turns out that refresh.. was also stale 🫠

Having the frontier LLM providers down today came with a measure of frustration which then shortly turned into joy. Also great to get validation for doing hybrid AI work where i purposefully pick handcoding certain tasks and offloading others. No-AI days pay off when there's no AI

Today I left home at 05:30 and the sky full of stars hit me like a ton of bricks Not even close to the first time leaving this early, which is why it's so... sad to realize I've been so caught up... I didn't even look up in the morning. Conf organizing is a lot of work next to a day job 🫠

If you’ve ever built a rich text editing experience, chances are you’ve come across @tiptap.dev. Open source, developer-first and built to give developers the freedom to create. That’s exactly the kind of work we love seeing in the JS ecosystem. Thank you, Tiptap, for supporting conf.zurichjs.com!

Most of us know, open source is about more than code. It’s about people helping and supporting people. Few embody that better than @santoshyadav.dev. His journey through life is remarkable, but so is how much he gives back to OSS. We’re very happy to have him as a panellist at @zurichjs.com Conf 💛

We have some of the best hoomans at the conf 💛

ZurichJS@zurichjs.com

It’s easy to complain about what could be better in the JS ecosystem. James takes a different approach: he sees something that could be improved and gets to work. Through @e18e.dev & many other projects, he’s helping make our shared OSS infrastructure better. So happy to have him at ZurichJS Conf.

Some say @wts.rocks is why @zurichjs.com conf even exists 👀

WhatTheStack@wts.rocks

Switzerland has mountains, chocolate, fondue… and @zurichjs.com We’re happy to have ZurichJS as a community partner of #WhatTheStack They’re organizing ZurichJS Conf before WTS, and you get 15% off with code WTS_15 Joining us in Skopje: @farisaziz.com and @bugdan.dev from ZurichJS 😍

I'm so happy to return to Skopje, this time on stage, trying to share a balanced view on AI and spark conversations in one of the most welcoming communities I've had the pleasure in meeting♥️

WhatTheStack@wts.rocks

Meet @bugdan.dev, a Zurich-based web engineer and ZurichJS community organizer. At #WhatTheStack, he’ll present “How to Not Use AI”—an honest look at decision fatigue, skill loss, burnout, and how to use AI without losing our problem-solving abilities. 🎟️ wts.sh

Building apps with lots of data? There’s a good chance you’ve used @ag-grid.bsky.social. What we find genuinely cool is that they started as an open-source project and have stayed true to that developer-first mindset. Thanks for supporting ZurichJS Conf as a Platinum Sponsor! 💛

Last month at JSNation, ZurichJS received the Global Community of the Year award for highest impact at the OSS Awards, the next person I want to speak about is Colin, because some people become part of a community long before there is any official title for what they are doing.

@acemarke.dev is coming to Zurich 💙 Redux maintainer, React educator, and one of the most thoughtful voices in our community. Whether it's React internals, architecture, performance, or AI-powered debugging, Mark loves a great question. Bring yours to ZurichJS Conf!

Huge gratitude to @nadja-hesselbjerg.bsky.social for making @zurichjs.com into what it is today

Faris Aziz@farisaziz.com

This last month at JSNation, ZurichJS received the Global Community of the Year award for highest impact at the OSS Awards, and the next person I want to speak about is Nadja, because if Bogdan helped give ZurichJS its soul, Nadja gave us something just as important: sanity.

This month at JSNation, ZurichJS received the Global Community of the Year award for highest impact at the OSS Awards, and while that recognition still feels surreal, an award can only capture the outcome, not the unpaid care, time, and heart behind it.

I met @atila.io a year ago at I/O Connect and then again at WTS. He's such a good energy bundle ♥️ can't wait for y'all to meet at @zurichjs.com conf💛

ZurichJS@zurichjs.com

Looking forward to having @atila.io at ZurichJS Conf! Team lead of SolidStart, core contributor to @solidjs.com, OSS advocate💛, and Fullstack Engineer at Databricks. Atila is always looking beyond the code, exploring how we learn, collaborate, and build better experiences for developers and users.

The best conferences are the ones you would happily pay for out of your own pocket. I’ve followed @farisaziz.com work and collaborated with him long enough to know that @zurichjs.com will be worth every penny. So I just got my ticket. Any internet friends joining us on September 11?
