I'm Chris Farris, the famous anime critic. I used to have a big column on DualShockers...for about a week! Writer of reviews and This Week In Anime for animenewsnetwork.com. Other words at beedubsposting.wordpress.com

This week, @vestenet.bsky.social and I run down the Umamusume concert cancelation, and why the political ramifications extend far outside that initial stable.
Go see Wildwood. Seriously, donโt waitโgo see Wildwood. What a piece of art. The love for the manual craft, for story that doesnโt hold back, for filmmaking that is not here to answer to stockholders, it weaves all through it. Incredible stuff.
"This remake is inviting new players into this world" is so condescending. Ohh wittle new players oooh you simply cannot handle playing games from 20 years ago...you're too wittle and dumb with your wittle brain
I just wanna write my reviews and my funny editorials with my co-writers where I can slip in references to Candy Boy, but every six months or so the advertising silo forces me to be associated with slop mills or a cult or something and yes it is annoying and exhausting as FUCK
I genuinely love the editorial team at ANN, the work we do together, and the opportunity they've so graciously given me. But even going on ten solid years it sucks that I still have to be reminded that this can never truly be permanent and *something* will have to be the breaking point eventually.
So uhh...yeah this is kind of a slap in the face to the folks on the editorial team at ANN to have to be associated with any AI shit, and I hope this ad gets taken down as quickly as possible because this ain't it
... On the urging of friends, I'm breaking that silence
I respect ANN's editorial team highly. They're incredible writers and creators who work tirelessly to keep the anime world informed while adhering to the old ways
This does not reflect on them
This advertorial campaign, though, is a disgrace
Fun fact: The decision to animate the final episode of Gunbuster in black-and-white was not a cost-cutting moveโit was a creative choice. Itโs actually more resource intensive and time consuming compared to traditional methods.
Hey guys as some of you may know I am currently recovering from a surgery so I've put together a small care package wishlist to help me out www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/...
