re: AI game knockoffs, it's nice that the game devs whose work i enjoy most are almost certainly gonna be OK. it's virtually impossible to meaningfully copy them. Lucas Pope or thecatamites or Nifflas or Mason Lindroth or Jack King-Spooner projects are so completely theirs that ya just can't do it.

Making a puzzle game? I'll show you something interesting. The two types are crosswords or sudoku. Myst, Her Story, Monkey Island? Crosswords. The Witness, Obra Dinn, Roottrees: Sudoku. Blue Prince? Feels like sudoku but it's crosswords. Despite playing with words, Golden Idol is sudoku.
