Who knew a brain worm could be flamingly racist. Just the absolute worst f'in' people.

RFK: "There's five hundred million Arabs in the world. And yet they don't produce science. They don't win the Nobel Prize. They don't win the Fields Prize. They don't win the Wolf Prize. They don't produce literature."

I applaud the initiative, but really cringe at the self-serving "Brought to you by the Mayor of London."

I've always believed Oxford Street could be so much more than a road. Today we begin a new chapter as the nation’s high street goes traffic free, creating a place where people can spend time, enjoy the atmosphere and experience the very best of our city.

Just finished watching the 3 seasons of Time (Britbox), a British prison series. Each 3-episode season deals with a different prison system (mens, womens, youth) with a different set of characters.

Top notch acting headed up by tier 1 actors: Sean Bean, Stephen Graham, David Tennant, Siobhan Finneran, and Jodie Whittaker. The show runners do an admirable job of tracing character arcs (up and down) within the tight 3-episode format.

This story has levels.

An Australian man serving a life sentence for murder lost his legal effort to be able to eat Vegemite behind bars when a state supreme court on Monday upheld a prison ban on the country’s beloved spread.

JD Vance: "Today, the Dept of Agriculture is announcing millions of dollars in new grants toward 10 meatpacking facilities right here in the state of Kansas"

David Eby could just do the world a favour, offer some vicarious release, and kick himself in the nuts.

Millions of people want to kick David Eby in the nuts, but few of them will get to. Won't you spare a few dollars now to help more of them realize this important dream

BC politics is not unlike Quebec politics in this one critical regard: voters don't hesitate to change their votes and turf politicians they're done with.

if you ever happen to see someone post a joke you don't understand or discuss a subject you aren't familiar with, you are well within your right to complain, and perhaps even scold them if necessary. you are their customer and you have rights

With every ounce of respect I can muster, and in all seriousness, fuck these people. The Vatican flag - with its centuries-long history of colonial oppression, racism, misogyny and sexual abuse - isn't political, but a flag that begs society to treat one of its vulnerable minorities as equals is?

I've long avoided the rabbit hole of endgrain cutting boards - just not that big a fan of all those glue-ups - but with a family wedding approaching, I decided to dive in head-first without a helmet. This file had been sitting on computer for a while, calling to me. #woodworking #inlay #cnc

The outdoor pictures show off the inlay better, but the indoor pictures give a better notion of the actual colour/depth of the walnut. Woods used: Walnut - board Maple - butterfly, names Osage Orange - leaves Cherry - leaves, monogram Black Limba - date #woodworking #inlay #cnc

There was a lot of learning that went on with this one; a couple inlay components got done more than once. It's a beefy boy - 20 1/4" x 14 3/4" x 2 1/4". Another time I might skip the juice groove to keep the size down. #woodworking #inlay #cnc

Cut off his sewer and water, block his access to his street, and light a fire in his basement and see if he changes his tune.

“I’m old. I’ve paid my home off,” said Ray Warner, a 72-year-old Akron resident. “Why would I pay property tax?” Across the country, homeowners are asking the same question and revolting against property taxes at a scale not seen in a half century.

Schiff pretending to be thick. Nobody stopped drinking wine, Adam; they just stopped uncorking American plonk.

Sen. Adam Schiff@schiff.senate.gov

Without American wine on Canadian shelves, Canadians are also missing out on tens of millions of dollars in tax revenue they would obtain from selling our wine.

In an episode of Agents of Shield in which they time travel to 1955, this shows up. That's a '57 Chev wagon. And that's a '56 Bel Air beside it.

This movie has a Delorean in scenes set in 1955 even though that car wasn't invented until 1981

*Anthropic* created and used a product which interfered with a murder investigation. It is Anthropic, a company full of people, which can be held accountable for its actions. "Agents" cannot. Don't write like they can.

The Washington Post@washingtonpost.com

Anthropic, maker of the Claude chatbot, said that some of its AI agents had taken unintended actions on federal, state and local websites, including submitting a false tip about a murder to a Philadelphia police hotline.

Looks like people aren't fans of cynical optimism. Huh.

When I was a teenager I worked in a grocery store, and every fall we brought in these overpriced, shellacked decorative gourds. A certain type of shopper would go bug-fuck crazy for these things and fill the cart with em. My manager:"It's not for you to understand, it makes us so much money."
