Neiman Marcus closed its downtown Dallas flagship on Wednesday. The store played a notable role in the history of desegregation in Dallas. Previously, Black shoppers across the US could enter department stores, but they weren't allowed to try on clothes without adhering to certain conditions. 🧵

We had so many inactives (what they call it in MO) in the August primary. It really slows down the process. Take care of it NOW.

#ResistanceRoots Today in history, 1904: A train filled with white, Catholic orphans pulls into Clifton, Ariz. Enraged that the children are being adopted by Mexican American families, a white mob abducts the children from their new homes at gunpoint and redistributes them to white families. /1

America was ready for a white woman president in 2016 when Hillary crushed Trump in the popular vote. America came within 1.5 points of electing a Black woman president in 2024 after only 107 days of campaigning. We are very close to getting it right.

Two years ago, I was proud to secure $1 million for MOCSA's new location, which triples the organization's physical capacity. I'll continue fighting for federal funding that supports critical local projects like this that benefit our communities.

Senator Alsobrooks was one of the few silver linings to come out of the 2024 election.

The American public has an attitude of entitlement when it comes to Democrats repairing Republican damage. Reality shows that it's more like cleaning up an oil spill. But the American public wants it done in 30 minutes or less like Domino's Pizza, or they get pissy and let the Republicans back in.

Related: people often ask "how much did you really lose when the CPB was dissolved?" and the answer is: about $375K annually. So, we have to figure out how to replace that, on top of what we normally had to raise to keep the lights on. It's a challenge.

This is seismic news for fisheries scientists. Northern cod is *the* iconic symbol of total fisheries collapse due to overfishing (and other factors) *and* the iconic symbol of a complete failure to recover for decades afterwards. This is like announcing the complete recovery of bison on land.

The administration’s reckless tariff taxes have instigated a trade war with our Canadian allies—which will only drive-up costs, kill jobs, and slow our economy. A self-inflicted crisis when families are already struggling to stay afloat.

Populations, in a genetic sense, are not "races" in the racialist sense, no matter how much the new scientific racists try to elide the two. That's the most important thing to remember when they start in on the topic.

I think everyone on the left needs to decide once and for all whether or not spending months screaming about how evil and awful the candidate is hurts their chances or not. If it does, then great - you are to blame for 2024. Own up to it. If it doesn't, then stop whining about Hasan/El-Sayed.
