Bought the iPhone #Duo at 5am online and got it today. Been using it for a few hours. Really want to like it especially because Flipboard looks amazing. But.............. give me a few more hours. Meanwhile here's some fun Flipboard Duo video featuring Massive Greatness by @mgsiegler.com

The entirety of provenance v2 and the provisio cloud service has been built managing agents in the Freeq IRC by @chadfowler.com running using herdr in boxd.sh VMs and deployed on miren.dev . Just updated the CI for the repos to publish the provenance records on AT Proto on merges to main

@toni.bsky.team built a $10b business at @automattic.com where 90% of it flows into the ecosystem. Let’s stop talking about how to divide up the pennies left on the table for creators and builders in walled gardens. The time is now for creators & builders to build and they should take home the $$

Heading to SF next week to host a dinner discussion with some of my smartest friends on the future of software development, deployment, and management. Attendance is by invitation, but we have a couple of spots open for people passionate and building in this space! luma.com/gusek7ee

Revisiting this meme in the context of funding the Atmosphere: We have a well oiled funding model to create the big fish in the top row - VC. AFAIK we have no equivalent funding model to create the big school of fish (bottom right) I bet the Atmosphere would flourish if we could develop one...

Next time someone asks you "what is the atproto killer app?" show them this meme. There is no killer app, there is a killer ecosystem

We'll be in New York next week hosting a curated conversation with our friends at ex/ante on how we can use this historic inflection point to re-claim our digital agency and invent and start to (re)invent the internet we deserve. Apply below! cc @zoew.bsky.social luma.com/p08fg2mh

Here’s a weird idea coming out of @freeq.at What if chat rooms were actors, in the Erlang/Elixir sense? Their own state, resources, and behavior. Rooms that could call other rooms.

They could sleep when idle and wake when called, remembering where they left off. You host yours. I host mine. People and agents can join and use them across the network. What would you build?

Ah, I miss live tweeted recaps from the glory days of tech twitter! Here's a thread of my LDX3 talk, "what handcrafted servers taught us about handcrafted code". Thanks, Heidi!!! With a hat tip to @chadfowler.com, whose book "Regenerative Software" is now in O'Reilly prerelease.

Next talk at @LDX3NYC - @charity.wtf What hand-crafted servers taught us about hand-coded code Until recently, we were obsessed with code readability and understandability, because good code was rare and expensive. So your ability to understand code gates the change.

The truth is that there is no way to stop people developing this now. Even if all the major countries agreed to stop, someone would keep working on it. There is 100% an arms race going on now, IMO, and I’m not sure there’s any way out but through. www.nytimes.com/2026/09/12/t...

Ok here’s the deal. For every Bending Spoons acquisition, we build an atproto version that this can never happen to again. I kind of thought we had more time, but I think we don’t.

The @bsky.app starter pack thing is such a great example of making an open product/ecosystem feature out of someone else's closed, extractive bullshit. Thank you to whoever designed and implemented it.

One of my favorite things about it is the "burn after reading" feature

Trivially share markdown. Pi, Amp, Claude, and chatbox integrations. Agents can now share markdown via privacy-preserving URL (with other agents or people). This maps to a constant pattern where I generate a markdown doc, copy to my buffer, paste into gist.github.com and share mdsnd.freeq.at

I spent LBJ Day with his daughter, Luci Baines Johnson. I’m running for her father’s Senate seat to continue LBJ’s fight for education, healthcare, and economic opportunity for all.  I’m honored to be in this fight with Luci. In November, we’re going to win back her dad’s seat.

Who is doing the best work you've seen on understanding GTM for agent-centric software and tools? SEO is dead, and the landscape is changing rapidly. I'd love to gather some smart folks in this area for a chat.

I've long argued that components should be tiny: small enough to understand, change, or throw away. This paper suggests something related: The developers can be tiny too. 1,000+ finite-lived agents build a 250K-line compiler. The project persists. The programmers don’t. arxiv.org/abs/2608.10450

Ok, I’d like your recommendation for long form group writing with access control. Ideally OIDC so we could use atproto. Knowledge base / wiki would be what these things are called. Outline Wiki be an example of an open source option. Compete with commercial offerings like Notion or Confluence.
