Our First Nations traditional territory maps are progressing. We're likely a week away from completing our alpha build. This will replace the Native-Land.ca territory maps, which went offline earlier this year (though they have other maps still online). It'll go online at knowledgekeepr.com

3:50am. “Up and atom” to drive my wife to the airport for her early morning flight. She is off to Montreal as a delegate to the National Association of Japanese Canadians. ⚜️

all atproto server-side apps/services: you are affected. - pds: service proxying is outbound tls requests - firehose consumers: tls to relays/jetstream - relays etc: tls to pdses, plc - identity resolution: tls to plc and did:web hosts - etc if you only ship code to the browser, you are ok.

🚨 Six WebPKI Intermediate CAs are compromised. This is bigger than Heartbleed, but a client-side issue. Anything that verifies certificates against public roots, like most TLS clients, is/was affected. Details, live test, patched versions and workarounds at emudhra.we-have-a-problem.com Act now.

Asked @attie.ai: "Please analyze all my Likes and create a list of the top 10 accounts that l like, with a count of how many of my Likes each has, and a percentage of total likes" Wow! Friends! 🫶 There is only 1 person on this list I don't know IRL (TBH I was expecting The Onion to be ranked)

am sick so spent the night with opus 5.5 working on a chart (inspired by the one from lem's golem xiv) how did we got here / model genealogy / the heroic age of language modeling

Finished Soil and Soul by Alastair McIntosh 📚 What an extraordinary book! So many highlights that I need to process. I learned a lot about Scottish history, my history as my ancestors came to Canada around the time of the Clearances, but I am not sure if related yet (researching this now!)

What is turning into an annual tradition: sunset photos from the False Creek Yacht Club, the afterparty for #polyglotunconf 🌅 Had a great time again this year. We talked a LOT about AI, but I also made a bunch of real human friends. 😊

Atmosphere update: atproto apps are growing 20% month over month, and last week we passed 1,000 daily active apps.

Ran a session called “What if YOU owned the software foundation?” and got a room of governance nerds to talk about how a foundation can serve devs and users as member-owners. Got some gold! #polyglotunconf #cooperatives

@onemoregamepod.bsky.social just working my way through the backlog after your Stonetop ep got shared in the Discord. Looking forward to the Dolmenwood ep! Just listened to the DM ep, and you alluded to it but wanted to ask about composing your table, and aligning playstyles and players. Thoughts?

For those at @atproto.to (and those that couldn’t be there) if you wanted more of a deep dive with @bad-example.com about how 🌟 > 🚗 check out this event! 🗓️

Publishing “Cryptographic Right Answers” for developers is a tradition by now. Colin Percival started in 2009, Thomas Ptacek followed up in 2015, and then Latacora carried on in 2018 and 2024. I put together a list updated for the renewed urgency of migrating to post-quantum algorithms.
