"In total, since taking office again, Mr. Trump exempted 202 facilities in 39 states & Puerto Rico from clean-air regulations that were going into effect. Some were among the country’s worst industrial polluters, including chemical manufacturers, copper smelters & coal-burning power plants." MAHA!

nytimes.comHow Trump Gave the Worst Polluters a Free PassThe president temporarily waived clean-air rules for industrial facilities that spew cancer-causing gases. Then his appointees worked to gut the regulations altogether.

We are facing a concerted, cross-border, not exclusively Christian nationalist effort to brainwash every demographic except young (and diverse) women of the manufactured threat posed by young (and diverse) women, in order for countries to collectively hand over their democracies to tech oligarchs

young men (18-29) who spend >5 hours a day on social media are more likely to agree that advancing women’s and girls’ rights has gone too far than those who don’t use social media as much. no difference detected among young women. @eurcorrespond.bsky.social

There's so much good stuff we need to build: Housing, Schools, Vehicles and Transit Infrastructure. But data centers are sucking up all the available capital investment and crowding out everything else. It's time to reevaluate our national priorities.

The most eye-popping part of the new EPIC-MRA poll of Michigan, which has Dems leading by an identical 4 points in the Gov and Sen races: Rogers has a disastrous fave rating (29/40), perhaps a leftover of the 2024 Senate race he lost. El-Sayed & Benson are +1, & James is -5.

There's no forgiving this. No living it down. It's a stain on our humanity. When all this is over, the monsters who did this should be pariahs. And the soulless thugs who cheered it on while dehumanizing Haitian immigrants should be reminded of what they did every day of their lives.

Aaron Reichlin-Melnick@reichlinmelnick.bsky.social

The situation in Haiti is terrifying. On Sunday, 150 gunmen swept down on a town to kill, rape, loot, and burn. 22 people were executed in a churchyard. 52 were taken hostage. Stephen Miller mockingly says Haiti is safe and ICE just sent its second deportation flight this month; with kids on board.

Charlotte Jameson reposted

We are a broken nation. Hundreds of thousands of Haitians were living and working legally, paying taxes, and contributing. Haiti remains wholly unsafe. But Trump hates Haitians, and the White House wanted videos of Black people in chains, so they stripped them of status and turned on the cameras.

This morning in Danbury, ICE was arresting parents at school bus stops. But it’s more sinister. ICE waited until the kids were on the bus so when they are dropped off at the end of the day, they are alone, scared to death they can’t find their parents. I’m heading to Danbury.

Problem 3: A large share of states use their block granted funds to essentially ignore transit. They spend almost all the money on highways, even when localities want something different! Fed funds help localities do what they can in the face of difficult states!

The excesses of the Woke 1 era mostly amount to cringe public statements, harmless vocabulary updates and loss of prestige for public figures. The backlash to Woke 1, on the other hand, is imprisoning dissidents, dismantling public education and eroding democracy. That's what needs reckoning
