Brilliant thread, explaining how Israel got to where it is at, in domestic and foreign policy and politics.

Abigail Nussbaum@abigailnussbaum.bsky.social

This is a good primer on Israel's political situation going into tomorrow's election. But I'd like to go deeper on something he only touches on, which is that part of the reason for Israel's electoral doldrums (and resulting geopolitical chaos) is its broken political system bsky.app/profile/avis...

This is a level of dedication to the mission, to brothers in arms, and ability to suffer that no one in the Trump Administration could even conceive of. Yet, here we are, witnessing technical ingenuity and a true warrior spirit - SecDef H wouldn’t last a week.

Yesterday, we all saw the video of Kostiantyn Vlasenko, a Ukrainian Defender from the 30th Brigade, being evacuated by drone from a position on the left bank of the Oskil River in the Kupiansk sector, Kharkiv region. I was deeply impacted by the video and his interview.

Imagine any other industry, even within technology, getting to do and getting away with what AI-TechBros are doing? That’s right, they’d be sued out of existence - quickly.

It takes minutes to cut trees down, perhaps hours for a family of Redwoods like this, but decades and centuries to grow forests. If only all politicians and companies understood that and valued nature.

Suomen Puolustusministeri Häkkänen voisi kun seuraavan kerran tapaa USAn puolustusministeri Hegsethin, vaatia ihan anteeksipyyntöä Suomalaisten - ja muiden liittolaisten - uhrauksien vähättelemisestä, ehkä lopettaa sanomalla: "Did you even say Thank You?"

A Russian state sat knocking off a private (ICEYE) sat would be...interesting. Many people have spent time thinking about what possible responses could/should be. How much time and how publicly, that would depend on the country, its security policy culture and the maturity of its 'space force'.

It seems to me that the best thing the next U.S. president - or Congress - could do is to nationalize Starlink. It is a clear core national security asset and should not be in private control. #nationalizestarlink

One person (Thiel) saying Pope and President Obama are seeking popularity by questioning the TechLords dystopian vision seems to confirm the very thing. Be kind to others and nature… is just seemingly beyond them.
