Perhaps today on National Holocaust Remembrance Day, the administration might want to watch the 1961 film Judgement at Nuremberg with brilliant performances by Spencer Tracy and Burt Lancaster. Maybe they might learn something, or on second thought probably not, which is unfortunate for all of us.

I'm voting NO on the Republican shutdown bill. NO on handing Donald Trump and Elon Musk a blank check to spend your taxpayer money however they want. NO on cutting funding that helps families put food on the table and crack down on wealthy tax cheats. We need to push back.

What is wrong with giving a new leader a chance? A new approach, a fresh approach. Someone who has integrity, leadership skills, represents a key state, has guts and the confidence of the base. Time to put ego aside and screw seniority. This is my nominee.

I think some in the Senate have convinced themselves that the backlash to folding will be limited to “the left” and therefore ignorable. Those people are deeply and profoundly misreading the moment and the stakes. Virtually every swing district House Dem walked the plank to vote NO for a reason.

What he said about Social Security payments has been repeatedly debunked - so the question isn’t whether he’s lying about this, the question is why. What is this a pretext for? He and the GOP have long shown interest in going after Social Security. What are they going to try?

Trump now lying about Social Security in his prepared remarks, pretending there's a lot of fraud. He's talking about a database that includes all the people who've ever received Social Security, but pretending it's the people who actively receive benefits.

Trump talked for 90 minutes but didn't mention Medicaid once. That's on purpose because he'd rather you focus on literally anything besides the fact that he wants to cut Medicaid & food assistance to help partially pay for tax cuts for the rich. I wrote about it here: www.msnbc.com/opinion/msnb...

msnbc.comOpinion | The GOP’s budget plan makes it hard to conceal its lies about Medicaid and SNAPHouse Republicans aim to use a procedure known as budget reconciliation, which allows the Senate to pass legislation with only 51 votes rather than the usual 60 required.
